My boss isn't from hell but she is going through menopause. It's lots of fun somedays.....luckily I am out in the field a lot.
Ahh! I had the "joy" of going through the horror of my boss' daughter (the Jeckyl and Hyde boss) going off to college! Her only daughter. :scared1: :scared1: Whatever happened to leaving your personal problems at home? :earseek: She was HORRIBLE to work for the first two years alone. She was depressed and such a witchy person!! I tried to talk to her as little as possible. Work shouldn't be like that!!!!

I once interviewed with someone who was so obnoxious that I told him he needed to back off or I was leaving. I was offered the job and when I refused they called back twice and upped the offer! There was no amount of money in the world that would make me work for someone who couldn't hold an interview without being abusive!

I own my own service. I have 19 employees under me. I'm the boss(just don't tell my secretary).:rolleyes1

I really like my current boss. But my one a few years back was pure HELL. The business was a charity organization that raises money for other charity organizations. Our office was in an old house. One winter the pipes froze and rather than walking 10 feet to the office in the next building to use their bathroom she made me cart back gallons of water so she could flush the toilet. Another time we had a night time meeting at the YMCA. When it was over the secretary who had come to the meeting with the boss in her car saw a cat and refused to go get the car. They made me walk in the dark by myself 2 blocks to get their car. And then they didnt even give me a ride to my car which was further than theirs had been.

Then the day I returned from my first Disney vacation I was informed that my position was eliminated. I could stay until they hired someone for the new position. I said no thank you and went on unemployment.

I have...working at a grocery we see changes in managers all the time. My first one was a big stupid jerk. When I came back from maternity leave (I was PT then) I asked if I could take 2 more weeks off without pay....I wanted to be sure she was on a schedule for my DH. I was told if I was going to do that my employment would be terminated...I did and it was. 8 months later I was back to work with a new manager in there. This year my current manager finally got all my seniority back for me. Most of them in between were mainly ok. My current manager is great. He is so well liked that on his birthday 2 days ago they made an announcement over the loud speakers and all the cashiers started singing Happy Birthday to him. He got so many hugs from his cashiers that day and he was so embarrassed.

My new boss is a flake. She's disorganized, totally unsure of what she's doing and sometimes has a hard time getting going in the am. But she tries hard because this business is her dream. Gotta love her. She's ME!!!! I just started my own candy wrapping business. Quit my old job and now I'm trying hard to market this thing and get my first real order. Sigh.....wish someone, ANYONE would call. It's like waiting for that first phone call from a guy who asks for your number.

I have one. Work for two attorneys in a small office for the last four years. At the end of last year, boss gave me a bonus then about a week later asked me how much the bonus was - when I told him, he started screaming that was NOT right (well, how would I know, I didn't call it in), apparently the firm that does our payroll misunderstood what the boss was saying - so now I get to pay that amount back $100.00/month all year long.

I think I'm the only person I know who's W2 goes down each year instead of up. I was also told recently that there would NOT be any raises or bonuses anymore. Why am I still here? It's hard to take time off when your the only legal assistant.
