Who else got the "Walmart gang shooting" text?

A year and two days ago a kid was shot and killed during a drug deal or gang something or other, so everybody here was pretty freaked as well.

I got it from like three different people, it was on the news, and my sister's high school made annoucements about it. idk if anything ever really happened though. but as soon as a found out i told everyone i knew.

No I live up on the West Coast about as far as you can get from the East Coast and still be in the US so that may explain as I dont do much chain texting...

I don't know if it was a text or not, but EVERYBODY was talking about how there was going to be a gang initiation at the Walmart in downtown ________, which is a pretty big city, and a huge crime area. Like the day before was where they were beaten up, and then that night they were going to kill a random woman at wal mart. I had no idea it started as a text message though....

Oh and I am in Florida btw, so that text spread far

For anyone who's wondering, it's a text that said "Do not go to Walmart tonight. Gang initiation and 3 women will be killed".

We got something like this around Halloween except it was 7 women. We DO have gangs here, and there has been murders committed by gangs as initiations.

OMG, when I read this two thoughts came to my mind; 1) that is sick, 2) we've had a similar thing where I live, across the pond in my area in the country of essex.

A couple of years ago, loads of chain text messages, on msn, networking sites and whatever, were all saying "Don't go to *Local mall name* here. A bomb is planned to go off at blablabla" and everyone thought it was being so so serious because it was just after the London terrorist bombings. Because I live on literally the same road as the mall, I admit I was slightly scared, but obviously nothing happened. Every now and again it circulates again, but it isn't really scary now.

I don't get these kinds of hoaxs. They aren't funny at all :S

The shooting was right near me. There is a gang here and in order to be initiated the person has to shoot and KILL 3 female walmart workers. It's ridiculous.
