Who doesn't go back to school until Jan.9?

I am beginning to think that this week is going to be very crowded. We are going Jan.1-Jan.7. Our school vacation is late this year. When is your Winter Break this year?

Metro Atlanta (at least North Fulton county) goes back the 9th as well.

We're from Montreal in Canada, and we only go back the 10th!!!

That's why we are going at Disney!!

Well I was planning a solo trip that week after the new year but I guess I should wait until all the monsters go back to school. (I really do love children but the crowds will be smaller...) I dont go back to class (college) until the end of January

I'm glad that so many of you get extended winter breaks. We only got 1 week off when I was in school.

Here in southern Ontario Canada we are out of school for our Christmas break from Dec.23rd ~ Jan 9th ...

Hi, I'm from Southwest Michigan and we go back on the 9th of January. My SIL in the Boulder area also goes back on the 9th. However I have a friend in KY who goes back the 2nd.

My children go to year round school in Arkansas and don't go back until Jan. 5th. We thought originally that they went back later than normal because of the year round status, but I guess not! Looks like our trip that was going to be "not so crowded" will be very crowded, indeed! Thanks for this thread, and have a great trip...looks like we'll all be in need of a lot of good wishes! (With a fine sprinkling of Pixie Dust thrown in for good measure! )

NJ here and we go back Jan 3rd! Also screwed up our usual holiday trip this year. Although it looks like it may be more crowded than it usually is. Have a great time and I wish we were going anyway.

We are from Virginia and my 2 youngest are in a private Christian school and they get out 1/2 day on Dec. 16th (a Friday) and have the next two weeks off, returning to school on Jan 2nd. My oldest DD is in public school and she doesnt get out until Wed. Dec. 21st and that is just an hour early dismissal and she is off until Jan. 3rd.

I am so glad people are responding. Most of you who are responding didn't mention if you will be making the trip to WDW for that nice long break. Any of you coming that week. Maybe a lot of people want to come for the Christmas activities and they die down a bit that week. Never-the-less we are going. I had NO problems getting the ADR's I wanted so I thought maybe it won't be soooooo crowded. It still has to be better than the year we went 12/29-1/3!

Off until Jan 9th. YES we will be there the 2nd-8th. DS running Half Marathon and we were thrilled to be able to come all week with the family instead of a long weekend. Last time this happened with our school break, 2002 we did the same thing and it was very crowded. I am hoping that it won't be, but won't be surprised if it is as some other runners may have the same idea (and there are lots more this year with the races on two days to allow more runners).

Either way we plan to have a magical trip !
