Who do you report this to??

There is this jerk in my office building that thinks hes above it all, and keeps smoking in the hallway. I'm sick of it - our office REAKS of smoke because of it, and its not legal. Who do I report him to??? I know hes been reported twice before, and has had to pay $250 each time, but no one knows who reported him, or where they did it.

This is an office building with several small business in it so there is no HR department. It has to be some kind of health department or something.

I would say the office building's supervisor or manager would be the first call. They are the ones who set up the rules on the building. You could also call Department of Health in your area to find out about any laws but I would probably start with the building administration.

Take pictures with your phone, email them to the buildings owner (on record) and to the owner of your company. Good luck.

When I was working it was not the employer but the county that the building was in that set the rules for no smoking in buildings. The company did their best to enforce it because they would be the ones to pay the fines.
