I'm not sure who to tip for a DFTW . I have outside photo and video who own their own business so I'm not supposed to tip them right? I am using DFTW for a motor coach and multiple one way vans for transport ...do I tip the drivers? Dj is from DFTW ...do I tip them?

We did not tip our photographers since they own their company, but they support a charity so we made a donation to that because they were exceptional. We donated to rev Tim's cause as well, in lieu of a tip.

We tipped the girls who did hair and make up, the limo driver, the van drivers (both after our DP the night before our wedding and the ones who drove on our wedding day), the DJ, the bartender, all of the waitstaff, and the bell services team who moved our wedding stuff to our room after our event.

We gave our planner a gift after the wedding. By the time we were done with tipping we probably spent close to $1K in tips.

The passporter has some information regarding tipping that may help guide you.

A good rule of thumb is to tip the people who don't own their own business.

I think all of my outside vendors (the ones providing the actual services at the wedding) are the business owners. What do you do for individuals who own their business in lieu of tips?? I didn't even realize that you shouldn't tip the business owner.

There is no formal etiquette on what to do in lieu of tips; perhaps a thank you card or simply nothing - they're providing a service that you're paying for. Anything else is completely up to you! :thumbsup2

Sometimes, the best show of gratitude is a positive review for the business that expresses how good a job and recommends the business to future brides.

It’s been a while since i posted anything on this forum, but i do see this question come up repeatedly: who and what do i tip when having a Fairytale Wedding? and I feel that as a mother who has had 2 weddings at Disney and 2 weddings outside Disney, I can answer this question with some expertise.

The rule of thumb is that you need not tip the photographer, florist, officiant, DJ/Band, make up/hair stylist since these people are already being compensated when you contract them for service. That being said, if they go above and beyond your expectations a small gratuity is appreciated.

next is the wedding planner. Remember this person does it all for you: coordinates the pictures, the rehearsal, the ceremony, reception. He or She is the go to person when there is a problem such as a ripped dress, ripped pants, broken heel, nail, veil. although yes this person is working for Disney, she is the one on the front lines. the coordinator is the manager of the hundreds of people behind the scenes which the wedding couple never see ... While gifts and gift cards are certainly appreciated, probably the least stressful is a monetary one. (don’t mean to be blunt).. Remember these coordinators may do hundreds of weddings per year, just how many gifts can a person use? not to mention personal choices ie: perfume, spa treatments.

again rule of thumb would be anywhere from 1-2% ... no one quibbles about the waitress getting 20% on a dinner check... this is your wedding day, its made as magical as you dreamed.::thumbsup2
