First time for me was in 1976. My sister and her friends decided to take a driving trip during the summer between third and fourth year in college and they were going to Disney World in Orlando. She was nice enough to include me, her 11 year old baby sister. I remember the small back seat of her friends' car and how long a ride it was! (from NY) Seeing the castle and being in Disney for the first time was very memorable for me.
Our team was in the conference finals in Anaheim, which was the main purpose of the trip for the majority of the group, I didn't care as much about basketball - but was very excited to go to Disney!
WDW - Went with my DH - we had been married about a year at the time.
and I was 17 I went with my EX DH
we rode all the way from Toronto on his motorcyle.
We got stuck in some time share thing one day ,this guy starts talking about how big Disney will be one day and how they are planning another park right now(epcot).
DH and I just looked at each other and rolled are eyes,Ya sure!
If anly I had Know!
I was about 12 or 13 I think...the seventies, then a marching band trip in '78...I basically remember the coupon ticket books and saving my "E" tix.. then in '85 went w/my boyfriend and he proposed on BTMRR...then went when DD turned 5 Memorial weekend '95...back 7/01, 8/03(DS B-day trip) and 12/03 (3 days Dolphin resort, no parks)next trip planned for 12/04....suffice it to say the trips after I found the DIS have been the most magical(other than DH proposing) as you all have shown us how to REALLY enjoy WDW!
My first trip to WDW was in 1978 and it was with my dad and my sister and my step mom and step brother. My DW's first trip was in 86 I believe and she went with her mom and dad and sister and brother.
I was 7 years old... summer of '83. It was my first time flying. My mother had met a wonderful man several months earlier(who later became my step-father) and he bought me a plane ticket and paid for everything. It was a fairly short trip to Miami and for just one day we drove to WDW and then back to Miami at the end of the day. He had been going for many years before he even met us and we have went every year as a family since then. I don't remember much of that visit... but the memories from all of the visits since then have all compounded... there's no greater place to visit than WDW!!!
February 1972 two Navy buddies and I travelled from NAS Jacksonville to Disney World just for something to do. We really had no idea what it was all about.
The my DW and I went for our honeymoon in February 1978.
dh and our 3 kids drove from Michigan to California to go to Disneyland. This was in the early 80's. Before the decade was over we went to Disney World. I don't remember the exact year. Now I'm taking the 2 oldest grandkids in Oct. for the 3rd time.
