Who can wait it out longer? Disney or me?

Well, I decided to tough it out and see if Disney notices that I did not already book us for our annual trip to the world. Since they did not offer a BB for the time that we usually travel, I did not book our 2011 trip...yet! So, now I'm hoping they decide to finally offer me a well deserved pin code to entice me to book. I'm sure, with my luck, I won't get squat but one can only hope, right? :confused3
We are going to try out Universal this year....we'll just have to wait and see if I add on Disney, too. :thumbsup2
Has anyone gotten anything for Nov, yet?

I am waiting too. I usually have my Nov. trip booked before the start of the year, but I am waiting hoping to get a discount of some sort.

Here's hoping!!!!

Meh, I'm not sure they'll notice, but I wish you good luck! I'm thinking of booking with the 35% mod code I have but telling the CM that I'll be canceling if they don't release FD! If they don't have FD, we can stay offsite for cheaper than the 35% off. I don't want to though, I just want them to (re)release FD b/c I was an idiot and didn't book before Dec. 20th like I should have.

and yes, I realize the CM really probably won't relay the message or anything, but when I do cancel if they don't release FD (and if other people do) maybe they will realize that only giving discounts a year in advance might not work so well??? :confused3

not sure what else to do!

I got a room-only pin for dates that included some November dates. According to the historical chart on Mousesavers, it seems that deals for Novermeber have been coming out between the end of July and the end of August. If you end up giving in, you could always book and then change up your reservation if any deals come out. :confused3

Good Luck. :thumbsup2

I'm going to wait it out with you. :hourglass

I am hoping for Free Dining for the Fall. I would prefer to go in November, but I can be flexible with my dates. I received a pin coded for % off room, but we like to stay at the POP and my DD (5) is still into character dining so that does not help much.

So just going to hang out and hope for some pixie dust

I waited for 2 weeks once we decided to book a September trip. Then I just gave up and booked anyways :lmao:

Good luck! I hope you get a pin code soon!!

I have the pincode for room only, but I want the free dining offer with a value resort if I'm going to go.

Honestly, I decided I'll just skip going this year and maybe next year, too if Disney skips this discount.

I've been doing Dollywood for our last two trips and I think I'm going back again this year. With the Smokies as a backdrop to Dollywood it's not a bad vacation. I go during festivals and I especially like the Fest of Nations time.

I'll be spreading my wings to other trips like National Parks if Disney doesn't give free dining.

The one thing I have control on is how I spend my money especially for a vacation.

Except they did give free dining, you just had to book it for a certain date. It will not be offered again as a general public discount at least for August/September.

Good luck with holding out on booking, I am weak I went ahead and booked with the general public %off promo that is out there, but still hopeing for a pin or public offer for October.

I'm with y'all and holding out for a really good deal, namely FD!:thumbsup2
There is just no way we can swing going to Disney this year unless FD is offered for October (my kids have fall break and makes it much easier to take them out of school for a week when they are in high school), because it saves us almost $1000!

I check my e-mails constantly to see if I have a pin, but no luck so far. I called Disney about a week ago to see if I had any pins and the really nice CM said that I was still really far from the dates that I had been looking at on the website and the pins for that time might come out closer to fall. :confused3

Good luck everyone!!

How do you know this for sure if you don't mind me asking?
I work in reservations. The current discounts that are out are the only ones that will be offered for those time frames. The only times not covered by the current offers are June 13-Aug 15, and Oct 2-Dec 31. The general public offers expire on 2/13. And they keep sending advisories stating that there will be no more general public offers for the dates covered by these offers. I'm guessing that there will be some summer and winter offers offered, but spring and fall value season discounts will not, except in maybe the form of a PIN.

Wow, that's unheard of. They are always coming out with new offers, I'm surprised that they aren't going to release more (including FD)...they must be doing really well then and have lots of bookings already.

Off to price a house offsite! It's Disney's loss, but I'm sure there are plenty of people with the money to stay onsite still without the discounts. We're just not one of them. :sad2:

So am I understanding this right, I would wise to wait for a room discount for late July early August? I'm not bothered about free dining its too much of a headache to organize. I really, really , really want BCVs (been there before and loved the place ) but can't afford the rack rates, I am about to book the Dolphin on the Teacher's rate but don't want to do it if there is still hope for BCVs.

When you factor in the % off discount and compare it to offsite and add in the cost of the rental car, parking and gas you aren't going to be much different (unless you factor in making meals at a house/efficiency you rent).

When I played it out our savings was around $200 - then factor in the convenience of onsite and it's pretty difficult to book offsite.

Now if you're planning to utilize a kitchen for meal savings, then it's a whole different game, but that's apples and oranges.

Well, we drive, so no rental is needed. We will be giving up some TS meals that FD would allow us, and eating at the house or offsite, so it completely changes the trip.

BUT, we need this vacation. We nearly lost our house last year and haven't had a vacation with just us (we went with ILs once) ever. I'll cut corners to make it happen, so we'll miss out on some of the onsite stuff we could experience, but at least we'll be able to go. :confused3

and I will try my best not to be bitter about it. It's just crazy to me how much a vacation at WDW costs. There are many of us out there that just can't afford thousands of dollars on a trip. Actually, there are many people out there that can't even afford ONE thousand dollars for a vacation, and many times they are the people that deserve it the most.

Off my soapbox now.

I think they will offer free dining again. The prior offer was released in August of 2010 and expired in December 2010. If you look thru other threads on the DIS, a lot of people don't make the decision to go that far in advance. I also think that Disney will want to target the people getting their income tax refunds and free dining does bring in the crowds.

I plan to hold out and let the cards fall where they may.

I received a 40%/35% hotel only PIN code email on Wednesday for various dates including my planned week in Nov (11/13-11/19). I hope you get something soon and can book ASAP!

Comparing a value or moderate hotel room to a multi-bedroom, multi-bath offsite condo isn't apples to apples either. Actually, I visited my mom's Beach Club deluxe room last trip, and while nice, it didn't come close to how nice our off-site condo was, or have nearly as much space. And it was substantially less money.
