We are planning a trip for October. Disney has sent me the same pin about 4 times this month (35-40% off room only). I have priced it out, and while the pin is good for us-certainly better than nothing- FD would be so much better. My kids love the character dining and that in and of itself makes the dining plan worth it for us regardless if it is free or not. Vacation expense wise, FD is a WONDERFUL thing. So my dilemma is this...My pin needs to be used by the 27th of this month. Supposedly new pins are coming out 3/1. I feel asthough if I book with this pin, any hopes of getting a FD pin would be out the window since they already got me, lol. My only hope would be for a general public FD announcement. If I let current pin slip by, what if I get nothing and then end up paying rack rate. What would you do???????

PS. I would be saving approx $400 booking with the pin now vs no pin later, approx $700 with FD vs current pin vs $1000 with no pin. OYE my head hurts:confused3

Pin expires in two days. Use the pin.

I totally understand your hesitation, but I would book with the room pin. I think they will come out with public FD as they have the last couple of years. It's working well for them, so I think they'll do it again. But if they don't at least you won't pay rack rate for your stay. As for waiting for a FD pin, aren't they few and far between? I wouldn't chance it.

We booked with a pin a few days ago and got a new pin the next day. So I think that once you are on the list you're going to get what you get. Use it and don't kick yourself later for not getting anything.

I personally would use it. I think there is a greater chance Disney comes out with general free dining (which seems to be working well and brings a lot of traffic during the slower months) then receiving a free dining pin. Since your current pin expires in a few days use that for now so at least you have something set.

And IF you do receive another pin you can always switch your reservation.

book with your pin, it's easy to modify your reservation when FD does come out.

I just called today. The CM I talked to said that they were told that there would be NO MORE FREE DINING offered this year. She did say that anything can happen - but this is what they were told. She said the Pin is for FD but for trips from July 1st through Aug 13th.

For what it's worth, I just got a PIN for free quick dining with a ton of open dates. I know that this isn't the PIN on March 1st that there's been rumors about, though. But is it standard to receive a free quick dining PIN? I was under the impression I would have received a free 'normal' dining plan :confused3

I would say use whatever PIN you have, and if you get another in the future, maybe you can swap them.

I had the same dilema. I decided to book with the current pin because it was 35% off the mods, better than the 30% general public code out right now. I didn't want to be stuck with no discount at all. I'm still hoping for a FD pin or a public code for Sept. but at least we aren't going to be kicking ourselves if nothing more comes out. I'm already kicking myself for not booking by 12/20 but we had only just decided to go, were headed to FL for Christmas at my grandparents and we just weren't organized enough right then.

I say 40% off a room especaily at @ GF CR along with DVC resorts are a stell and it would be a crime not to tak adavatange of it

Book it! OMG- I'm so jealous...I've been waiting for ONE PIN, let alone getting one 4 times!

WHEN in October?

If you're thinking of going down for the week of Columbus day...I'd say book with the PIN. I'm getting the "vibe" that bookings are up for that week, and I'm seriously wondering if Disney will go with any sort of public promo for that week (including free dining).

Book it!!! $400. is better than nothing!! If you book it will not mean that you will for sure not get another PIN.
