Who announces the first dance, father daughter dance - when to cut the cake ect? - If you do not have a dj.. vilonist...ect and you just rent their speakers and stuff and use your own music cds?

I was wondering the same thing. Glad you asked. We may have a violinist or pianist, but I couldn't see them doing it either. Someone help us

If you don't have a DJ or musician who will do it for you, than have the best man, or father of the bride announce you. We asked our musician (a guitarist) if he would feel comfortable announcing us, and he seemed a little flustered by the question. I don't think he's ever done that before (even though he's done a ton of weddings), but he said he'd be willing to give it a try. Your site coordinator will be in charge of telling the person who will announce you when to do so, and they should be able to time all the events for you so you don't have to worry about it.

I would have a person in the bridal party do it. Some one that is reliable and comfortable doing it. A best man sounds like a good option.

Ok, so I can elect someone in the bridal party - and then my site coordinator will tell him to announce the stuff like cuting the cake.. first dances ect? Right? That seems suitable. I was just worried I would not know when to do each thing- but you are saying that my site coordinator should be able to keep us on track and when to do each thing?

I am planning on having a major domo who will announce us but after that for the things happening during the reception was my concern.

You should also see how long the Major Domo will be there and what other announecements he will make. And yes, you planner will keep everything flowing and running on time so there is nothing to worry about as far as that is concerned. I will probably do the same exact thing you are doing.
