I am Teddy Roosevelt.

Theodore Roosevelt was a New York Legislator, New York Governor, Police Commissioner of NYC, and Assistant Secretary of the Navy. When he was elected Vice President (under William McKinley) he was already a well-known national figure, in part due to his having organized and led the “Rough Riders”. He was also a well-known author.

Really, put in all the facts about Roosevelt. If you do, then it becomes obvious that he had a lot more experience than Governor Palin.

I actually thought that Senator McCain's selection of Governor Palin was an inspired choice, for it has brought in the more conservative elements of the Republican party. As Teddy would have said, it was 'bully!'

However, it does puzzle me how people seem to have lost all perspective. I mean if, two years ago, Governor Palin had announced that SHE was running for President, she probably would not have made it through Iowa. People would have simply scratched their heads and said 'who'?

I agree. I am surprised that Senator Obama beat out Senator Clinton. Heck, I was surprised that Senator McCain won his party's nomination.

This election year has simply been a year of surprises.

Do I think that Senator Obama was the best candidate the Democrats had to offer? No.

Do I think that Senator McCain was the best candidate the Republicans had to offer? No.

Am I overjoyed that Senator Biden and Governor Palin were picked as VP candidates? No.

I am just curious about those who act like (any of the four just named) are The Best Hope of the USA.

I thought Governor Palin was an inspired choice by Senator McCain to bring in the conservative block who mistrusts him, and she has certainly stolen the thunder from Senator Obama.

Heck, I think Senator Biden should withdraw and that Senator Obama then draft Governor Palin as HIS running mate. That way, for those who think she is the greatest thing since sliced bread, it will be guaranteed that she will be vice president!

Why bother saying it then? Surely you can read some of the other threads here and see that while I don't personally agree with them, there are people who don't like her that have perfectly good reasons that don't involve her looks. I am afraid that your attack isn't really making HER look dumb.

Sorry. I just think that if someone is going to represent our great country, that person should have a little class. Maybe if enough people call Sarah out on her trashy look/speech/behavior, she'll class it up a little bit.

And Steve, re education: a Harvard degree does not an intelligent president make. Just look at who we have running things now for evidence of that.

I don't think Cheney has an ivy league education either, but he is very intelligent. We've heard Palin speaking off the cuff. She's not that bright. Smarts matter.
