Who agrees that Boma should be???

A character meal. How awesome would it be to have the lion king characters at that meal. You may think I'm nuts but was just thinking since we are staying there that it would be neat to have the LK characters. Disney if you are listening it would be a big hit

Technically there are several reasons it will not work. Primarily these involve space, capacity and turnover.

I have never done a table count, but it appears to me that Boma is actually one of the largest restaurants on property. Currently they estimate that on the average people will be out less than a hour after being seated. (I know a former Assistant Manger from Boma and he told me they actually set the reservations based on 45 minutes.) And the tables are close together.

If you notice at most character meals the timing is that each character gets to each table approximately once per hour. This allows for actually stopping and having time for (sometimes) multiple pictures.

If they tried to have characters at Boma It would take a lot longer for the characters to get around; probably at least an hour and a half. The effect is it would significantly cut down the number of diners the restaurant could handle during a meal.

I agree!! Not to mention I personally think it goes above and beyond your average buffet, especially at breakfast and I think making it a character breakfast would be a mistake.

Oh, please, no!! To us, Boma is an oasis, a respite, and a very civilized dining experience. To add characters would totally change the atmosphere. We are not fans of character meals (sacrilege, I know), so it's nice to have such a great choice.

What a logistical nightmare! Let's take an overcrowded overpopular restaurant and add characters making it MORE difficult to move around, making people take longer to eat, and making the restaurant even more popular.

Boma doesn't need to be a bigger hit than it already is. People are driving to this out of the way resort for the breakfast buffet now.

I was chatting with one of the CM's at AKL and she said that a character meal has been ruled out because of space. There simply is not enough room to accomodate it. I would love to see a lion king meal at Boma,but for very selfish reasons. My family refuses to eat there again, and I loved it. I'm not above using my DGD to get them into Boma.

I would much rather a Character breakfast in MGM for people over 5.

I would hate to see Boma become a character meal. While I enjoy character meals, it has become more and more difficult to find non-character dining at Disney.

Most of the character meals are not very good (foodwise). Boma is awesome, and we eat there every time we stay at the AKL, usually 2-3 times.

If I had to wade through someone's pictures with Timon to get my fufu, I'd shoot myself.

Who agrees that if you stay at the AKL, you should be able to walk into Jiko or Boma without ADR's and get the next available table?
