We are!!! :yay: Are people planning to dress up in Costume? The whole day? We are starting our day with breakfast at Kona’s. We will be 2 of the 3 Sanderson Sisters!

I see they just extended hours from 6-9pm. Looks like it’s going to be packed as availability calendar is now full. I sure wish they had FastPass as the lines look abominable with 60-90 min waits on some rides. I find it a little sad that 90% of the day is spent in lines! But will make the best if it

I sooooo wish they would do fireworks. How wonderful would that be??? But I get it. It would be far too crowded with no social distancing possible near the castle. That was one of my all time favorite memories Halloween 2011 with my entire family. Now it is just me and DD13, so it’s a little bittersweet, but still very exciting.

Who else is planning on MK for Halloween? Any tips from people who have already been to MK in this CoVid world without fast passes how to best attack the rides? I’m worried we’ll be burning up in our costumes waiting for hours.

I'll be there! I'm actually flying in to Orlando on Halloween, so won't make it to MK until mid afternoon, but that's ok. I just want to be able to soak up the atmosphere and maybe have a snack. No rides necessary.

I am changing my plans- But no tickets available for MK that night. Guess I can wait and see....

Any word about extended hours???

They extended them a couple days ago. When I booked, closing was 6pm. Now MK is open until 9pm on Halloween. I sure wish they would consider fireworks that one special might. A girl can dream.

We will be there too ! My son and hubby are going as non disney characters  and I will be representing Maleficent. I think we will get into costume halfway through the day. It has been hot here in Florida so I am hoping it cools off a little before Halloween.

I was wondering if we should bring costumes to change as well so we had option of being comfortable whenever we felt like it. Would you just rent a locker somewhere along the way? That is what I was thinking.

I’d rather do something else this year...it’s really not Halloweenish at all outside the lanterns. So sad to see, but thankful the park is open.

I'm definitely going to be in the minority here, but I think this social distancing thing is nonsense. It been suggested by many medical professionals that masks are the most effective measure.

Now, don't get me wrong, I practice it as not to upset others, but we need to start to get back to some sort of normalcy. There is just too much fear out there now. Bring back fireworks and parades and just make sure people aren't cheating with the masks.

Finally... I am going to be even more controversial (but if you've read any of my other posts/threads, that is par for the course). COVID is never going away. The flu has not been eradicated, nor will this be.

I agree with some but not all of your post. I would love it too if they reinstated fireworks and parades! And I agree it is not going to go away. Even with a vaccine, but it appears to be far more contagious than the typical flu. This is more like the Spainish flu pandemic of 1918, and the statistics show that places like St. Louis had far fewer # of lives lost when since they implemented social distancing right off the bat when compared to cities that did not social distance. Yes, people will continue to get it, but until we’ve got a better solution, masking and social distancing is it. Saturday was our biggest day in Missouri with over 5,000 new cases, yet there are people filing lawsuits to re-open my town’s schools to 5 days a week.

Currently, families only have option of 2 days a week in school or all virtual. They divide it up by alphabet. Last name A-L go on Mon/Tues. M-Z go Thurs/Fri. Everyone stays home on Wed while they sanitize the school. We opted for all virtual since I too get to work from home until at least Jan. I’m sure it sounds crazy to people that we are virtual only yet we are going to WDW for Halloween!! But, I honestly thought it would be the best time so that my daughter wouldn’t miss any school. We can take her laptop with us and do any assignments while we are there. Any other normal year, we would have to takeoff anywhere from three days to five days of actual school.

But, that being said, I’m not really sure what the right solution is. I think that no matter what decision is made for each community, each state, or our nation as a whole, there will be someone who is upset with the decision. I think the decision makers are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. There is no win win here. And, I think another thing is the rub between individual rights versus empathy and compassion for those in our society who are more susceptible to contracting and dying from this illness. I wear my mask and social distance not because I have to, but because I have elderly parents that I don’t want to be the reason they died, and I have a newborn granddaughter who already had a staph infection and was hospitalized for over a week just last month. I want to see my grandbaby and I don’t want to accidentally kill her. It is a choice I make because I care about other people. And yes, when I get back from Disney, I will self quarantine for two weeks. That is going to be hard though. Three weeks without my grandbaby. But that is better than not caring whether or not I expose her to something that I might not even know I have.

Like I said, I don’t know what the right solution is. I don’t pretend to. I just do what’s right to protect the people I love and other human beings. Because I care.😷

On a MK note, I’m so excited because they opened up some ADR’s today for Halloween. We got Be Our Guest at 7 PM! I’m so excited!!!

completely agreed. I think the next step is to remove the 6 foot distances, that will massively increase ridecapacity too. Keep the mask requirement because as you have said the masks seem to providing the best way to stop the spread.

Thank you for agreeing.

To add: get reid of the stupid park reservations. I paid a lot of money to be an annual passholder, yet I have the fewest options on a day to day basis. I can't go when I want to. Disney stole my money.

We’re going! No official costumes but dressing in a Halloween themed shirt and Minnie ears. Doing breakfast at The Wave for the first time. So excited for it all!

If your not staying on site , that’s exactly what I would do there is no way I’d make it through the whole day in costume lol

We will be on a Disney property. I just don’t know that I want to go all the way back to hotel to change and then go back in costume. But, we might do that too. That is an option. We just don’t get to WDW very often so I hate to miss a second of our park time.
