Whitehall Dance floor question

I'm having the ipod setup instead of a DJ. Do I have to pay for a dancefloor in the Whitehall room?
Anyone have any pics? I'm having trouble picturing it.
Also, do we really need a dancefloor? I know people definitely want to dance, but could we just dance on the carpet?

Do we have to have one? I feel like that's a lot of money?
I don't think our guests would mind dancing on the carpet...

We didn't have one but we only danced our first dance.

We will be doing lots of dancing hopefully so I don't know if it would be wierd dancing on the carpet? I like to idea of saving $500 though. Any pics anyone?

Dancing on carpet sounds like an invitation for static electricity! If you're planning on doing alot of dancing, I would go for the dance floor as painful as the ridiculous price tag is. If you're only going to do the first dance, dance on the carpet!
(I've always wanted to use that smilie!!)

I only had a 1st dance and just used the carpet, I think you have to think is it money well spent? Will you be using it for a long time? Will there be enough dance floor to justify the $500? How much does it effect your budget. If you have got the money and it ticks all the boxes go ahead and splurge!
