White wine and cooking sherry?

Hi all. I'm cooking a recipe that calls for white wine, all I have is cooking sherry. Think this will be okay or should I run to the grocery real quick?

My rule of thumb is..if you drink it you cook with it. I don't drink cooking sherry therefore I do not cook with it. I would suggest you go get a bottle of white wine.
