Anyone visit White Water in Atlanta or Dollywood Splash Country? Have any feedback as to whether they are any good or not? Expensive ??

i haven't been to dollywood splash country yet, but white water in atlanta pretty much sucks. i lived in atlanta for 10 years and only went there once. it's pretty horrible. i'd go with dollywood. i've been to dollywoods regular parks and they were always clean, well kept, with nice staff.

We have done Splash County and it was fun. Not the theme level as WDW, but clean and fun slides and pools. The lines can get a bit long. They are very strict about things like no zippers or metal on suits so read the rules before you go. Its a better deal to do the combo ticket with dollywood and we like that park a lot.

I've been to Splash Country a few times and my family enjoyed it, but it's the only experience we have with an actual "water park." I constantly saw employees cleaning up tables and picking up trash, etc, (and I thought they were nicer than Dollywood's employees). The bathrooms didn't smell the greatest but I saw staff in there cleaning each time we were in there. I'd say it would be almost impossible to clean on days with such high demand.

If you get a locker, I would request a central location like near the wave pool. Get there early and put your stuff on a chair under the shelter near the wave pool. No one bothered our towels all day on a chair by the lazy river. The parking lot is close by and it would be really easy to bring your lunch in a cooler and take a break and go out to your car to eat.

I highly recommend that you check out Trip Advisor since the reviewers often give good tips for enjoying the park. You can get a single day adult ticket for $47 or a 3-day either park (Splash Country or Dollywood) ticket for $95. A lot of people recommend the time saver band which is sort of like a WDW FP-.

White Water is included in our Six Flags season passes, so we go often...

My family always has a good time! It's usually just me and my three kids, so we stick to the wave pool, lazy river, and kid sections. When my husband joins us, we incorporate the family and thrill rides. There is SO much to do.

In the three years we have had Six Flags/White Water season passes, we have found both to be clean, safe, and fun parks (and a good value for the money).

If you decide to go to White Water, you can pack in food, IF you have young children. The parking lot is close enough to take a break, though, too.

My favorite water park, though (and more comparable to Disney's) is Lake Lanier. Have you considered it? I try to take my kids in late summer, when CFA has BOGO tickets, even though it's free for us to go to WW. I grew up going to Lake Lanier, and they have a beach area and carnival rides, in addition to the water park.

My husband just added that one thing he loves about WW is that "it's covered in trees, so you're not baking in the hot sun."

Whatever you decide, it's water park season! :)
