white leather purses...fashion do or don't?

I would have thought the same old lady thing until I saw a beautiful, shiney, white leather purse in Burberry's window. Oh my, it was just beautiful and calling my name...sadly my wallet didn't agree! If I ever win the lottery, I'm going back for that purse.

I will warn you that a white leather will easily pick up color from material that rubs against it. Example: if you wear dark denim jeans and the bag is worn on the shoulder (and the strap is long enough) as it rubs against your hip, the blue will transfer on to the white!

Keep an eye on it and clean it at the first sign of transfer!

the new rule in fashion: there are no rules. really. i think the purse is super cute! Just don't wear it with a white top, because the it could make the top look dingy. Darker colors are better, but definitely heed the warning of color transferring.

Any-who::your not supposed to wear white shoes before memorial day or after labor day so I'd say same thing goes with purses but hey that's just me..

I like the black one. The bag is very pretty, but I don't like white purses. I actually prefer bright colors in Spring/Summer. JMO.

You're not alone.

I only carry white bags during the summer. After Labor Day, they are packed away with the the summer clothes, sneakers and shoes.

Its not a question of how old you are or where your from. Its more a question of where your located when you wear white since it is considered a summer color. You can pfft me but that doesn't' change that a white leather purse looks odd on a snowy day. Or maybe you think its normal. Granted a white purse on palm beach in December is fine.

It was my opinion I never said the the purse was ugly. Though I personally didn't like. its the buttons/grommets just not me. That doesn't mean you can't wear it, it is almost summer. Wear what you want but don't think that people don't notice when things look oddly out of place for the season. If you want a light colored bag for the winter go with a platinum/silver white. I am a buyer for women's retail. So you can buy what you like and wear what you like. But remember people like me are the ones who picked it out for you to be able to purchase it and if you go to the dept stores you won't find snow white leather in winter months. You'll find other pale colors and metallic shades of platinum and silver. Now if you shop for seconds at tjmax or the like that's another story.

Truly you can wear what you like now days. But there is a reason women don't look nearly as polished as we used to and its because we no longer follow the fashion rules. (I know that's a generalization but you know what I mean) and I'm 35 and from Boston I remember when Bostonian's were considered very fashionable not so much anymore. If you recall oh wait your to young to remember. But Newbury Street, Beacon hill, the Prudential Center and Copley place are there because of the fashion forward people. Have you noticed all the vacancies its not only the economy its because people buy alot more and have for along time from discount stores.

I'm Just very into fashion that is the business I'm in and believe there are rules. Trust there is a huge difference between being fashionable and wearing whats in.
