White elephant gifts

The White Elephant exchange I go to each year spefically asks us not to BUY anything new. We have to re-gift something from our house. Perhaps a gift someone gave us that we'd never use or some piece of home decoration we never use or such.

We do this for our Sunday School class. It is just married adults & no kids, so you could do a 'little' adult humor.
We had someone wrap a sexy Mrs Santa nightie which was pretty funny to watch the men argue who got that.
You could put a life like plastic tarantula in a sturdy box with a clear string attached to lid. So when the person opened the lid the tarantula comes out.

Some hits from our church white elephant swap- a toilet seat, a betty boop windshield shade, a set of nose hair trimmers, a really ugly rabbit shaped wooden door stop. As seen on tv stuff is great, too. Walgreens has some pretty hilarious stuff.

A big box of ramen noodles and some tin foil- apocolypse survival kit!

One year we bought a cheap toilet seat and polished it lightly with shoe polish to "dirty" it up. We then placed a picture of someone (with a great sense of humor) in it. It was hilarious when they opened the toilet seat cover and saw the picture!
Another year we went to Spencer's and purchased fake lottery tickets. They look real. The look on the person's face when they "won" was priceless.

I saw fake scratch tickets at Dollar Tree the other day...they look so real and I think you get 4 or 5 for $1!

Last year I did a "Bathroom Reader" I found in the clearance section along with a 4pack of toilet paper and some glade deoderizer spray.

At our last swap, someone gave a nicely wrapped box of Russell Stover's candy - the kicker was that it has been opened and a bite was taken out of every single piece!

I've also seen a framed autographed 8x10 portrait of the giver, so cheesy it was really funny. The most hideous rocking cow you've ever seen, a set of mateless socks, etc. These are always so fun and don't cost much at all.

Jars of pickled pigs feet (or other strange pickled food) tend to do quite well! :lmao:

I would go to your local Goodwill and browse around. They always have some super strange stuff.

I found a gift for my family's grab bag exchange today. It's an elf hat (with jingle bells hanging off the pointy ends) and it plays the song "we are Santa's Elves" (from Rudolph) :lmao::lmao: It was $15.98 at Home Depot. They also had one shaped like a Christmas Tree that moves and plays Rocking Around the Christmas Tree and another one that I don't remember. Those might make a good gift.

Do you have a price range? That might make a difference in what we suggest. ;)

I don't know that we stated an amount or any specific "rules" (like don't buy new). I was thinking like $10 or less.

I would look around the house and see if anything jumped out at me. If nothing there, we have found some really funny stuff at the dollar store. A dog pacifier. A giant rat trap with a rubber rat. A pink tutu, feather boa, tiara and a 'magic' wand together in a set. A light up spin toy. A headband with some silly snowman heads or something. Funny Christmas socks. A tacky Santa hat.

Or if you want to go all out, look for a tacky Christmas vest or sweater.

Good luck and have fun with it!
