Any good ideas for white elephant gifts? It's for my Sunday School party so it needs to be clean and non-alcoholic :thumbsup2

for kids or adults?
i have given photo coasters ( u put pix in middle of glass)
gift cards to gas station.
being as its a sunday school.. i assume everyone has a bible. maybe a bookmark.

for kids...
craft supplies.. depends on the age.

Tervis tumbler, or similar double-walled tumbler. If you want to spend a bit more, put a Starbucks or Jamba Juice gift card in it.

I bought a "hedgehog" one year to put at back door. You rub your muddy boots or whatever off before going into house. EVERYONE fought over it while playing the game where u pick one gift and can trade it. Also nice 8 by 10 or 5 by 7 picture frames to me is always welcome. Candles seem to be popular. Hope this helps.

By White Elephant, you mean a "joke" gift, right? Not just a "Secret Santa" type thing.

If so, we find that any of the "As Seen On TV" items make a good White Elephant gift... cause everyone secretly wants them but doesn't want to admit it! So everyone always fights over them while mocking it at the same time. :rotfl:

printer paper, soap and lotion set, grilling tools, "craftsman" tool, coffee, tea, kitchen tool, a book, a journal, diapers, wipes

The only limiting factors would be price and humor factor:rolleyes1

We tend to go for the funny/cheesy factor.

Went to one Christmas party and the printer paper was a big hit, of course they were all in school and printing alot ;) We took home the whiskey so I could make vanilla. Which you could use also do for a gift if you want. Homemade Vanilla, but there is alcohol ;)

White Elephant Gifts are funny, or gag, gifts. Not practical gifts! ;)

Head to your local thrift shop! I have found AWESOME white elephant gifts there. A women's Christmas shirt (with tags) that said 'Santa's Little Helper', a beyond ugly lamp made out of an old shoe, etc.

At work, we typically go with As Seen on TV/infomercial gifts, too (or booze, but that isn't an option for you). One year the Snuggly was the hit of the party, and another year it was the Shake Weight. Fun times!

Last year, I bought boxer shorts that were compressed like the washcloths you can buy. I got them at AC Moore and they were a big hit.

For my son's white elephant party, we used an empty 2 liter bottle. We took off the label and then put a slit in the back and stuffed it full of candy. Then we put the label back on, so you couldn't tell how we got it in there.

A box of Lucky Charms with a scratch off lotto ticket (might get lucky!)

A monogrammed notepad. Find one with the letter "I". It's an iPad!
Bonus points if you can use a real iPad box!

Target had a great movie night bucket for about $8. Bucket (paper), 2 bags of microwave popcorn, movie sized skittles, m&m's and peanut m&m's. The total was $8 for the bucket.

I got it to keep for my work Yankee Swap to be coupled with a bad movie from the $5 bin. We do one at the holidays.

I found it in the Halloween candy isle.

Probably the most popular gift we've given is the movie basket, with a box of candy, a packet of microwave popcorn, a bottle of pop and a terrible (cheap) movie as the humor part.
One year the movie was "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" which we found at Walgreens. It's so bad it's funny.
I got a pumpkin one year. My son got a pair of very large crocs another year. He wears an adult 12, and they were too big for him!
Funny hats also seem to be a big hit at our party, and it's easy at Christmas time to find funny hats.
This year I found an extremely ugly pelican garden statue for the exchange.
Check clearance sections in stores for stuff.
Have fun!

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. It's for adults. I would like something hugely humorous. I love the following ideas! I guess I'm just not creative enough to think outside the box. I'd love to find those boxers...

I got a doorknob once. It was pretty funny actually.

My brother put a plunger in ours one year.

I got them at AC Moore in the holiday section, but here is a selection online.

Here are some at Sears. Maybe you could find them at the store?

My brother found a jar of pickled pigs feet one year and it was the hit of the swap. ;)

Hahaha. I got a white elephant gift at a church class party one year that was hilarious. It was a Kwanza Christmas ornament. I realize this is probably not PC for these boards but....there is African heritage involved in the bigger story. You had to be there.

Another funny gift was a log from someone's wood pile. I gave tulip bulbs dug up from the yard.
