It's a couples party. No kids. Age group mid 30's to mid 40's.

A really useful gift, but still out there on the outrageous scale is a variety of bungee cords.

We've done this several times, and it is a hotly sought after gift. There are teeny-tiny bungees, as well as super long ones. For $20-you could have a great selection!

Will the gifts stay wrapped? If so, at DH's work someone put a box with $20 of pennies in it which was a huge hit since no one could figure it out but it was so heavy so everyone kept stealing it. Another one that was a hit was a box with holes cut in the side and it turned out it was a remote control car with a stuffed animal on top. The person kept the remote control so the box kept 'moving' and it would look furry when peeking in the small holes!

Outrageous gifts once unwrapped from his work parties were a marshmallow launcher and a dog poop calendar.

Can you tell he works in an office of almost all men?

This may be a dumb question, but what is a White Elephant Exchange?

We do our White Elephant with items from our home that we don't use, we're given as gifts and never used, etc. No cost. The funny one this year was a box of 100 tampons (I kid you not, I think it was from one of the pregnant moms). It was actually stolen by one person in the group.

Since you have to buy something, the other big thing a couple years ago was a bottle of unusal booze.

Just tossing out another idea - and YES - we actually purchased one for this year for my family's exchange thing- a pomegranate seeder thing. Found it in the produce section of our grocery store.

And yes - we'll get a pomegranate to go with it, closer to our function.

(Last year - one of my sister's brought a salad that had pomegranate seeds, and apparently getting the seeds out is a pain in the tush.)

You can always check to see if a local store near you sells it.
