I’ve seen some posts that white card members have gotten a discount automatically applied using mobile checkout with certain mobile food orders and WOD mobile checkout. This has been happening to me for 2 years since my resale purchase. Getting 10% with food and 20% merch.

It’s got me confused actually and I was hoping someone would help me clarify what I would get in person so I don’t ask for something I’m not actually supposed to get. I think this must be a digital mishap in MDE.

As a white card, I have never asked for TS discounts, so I cannot show my card at the table service at Kona, but if I do mobile Kona Cafe to go, it gives me 10%. What’s going on here

The MDE mobile app sees the DVC affiliation in your profile, but doesn't know the difference between who is and who isn't eligible for discounts.

I'm an Associate Member and not eligible for DVC Discounts, yet the MDE mobile app will apply the DVC discount instead of the AP discount.

For the time being, they have added the mobile order discount to anyone who has DVC associated it with their account. So far, it doesn't seem that they have found a way to distinguish between each.

As someone not eligible for membership extras, you are not entitled to the discounts. So, you would not be eligible for them when dining in or checking out normally as you would not be able to show the card to qualify for them.

Basically, they haven't found a way to exclude those not eligible for mobile orders and mobile check out. Whether they every will? Who knows.

What mobile food orders are eligible for discounts? I thought it was only sit-down restaurants these days that offered that.

Slightly off-topic, but during this last trip I've had servers at two different restaurants tell me that if I want the AP discount for meals then I'd have to show the AP added to the MDE since it shows the actual expiration date. We typically show our physical APs instead of pulling out the mobile wallet for our DVC discount for dining. All of the digital proof gets annoying fast, and basically screwed if your phone is dead-or worse no longer functioning when you accidentally leave it in your swimming trunks and go into the pool for more than 10 minutes!

There are a number of Resort TS Restaurants that have a "To Go" option in mobile ordering which offer a discount. Zuri's Sweet Shop (DAK), Disney's Candy Cauldron (DS) and Goofy's Candy Company (DS) all offer mobile ordering and extend a discount.

Interesting, we just got back and we were receiving the discounts too as resale members. This was our first trip since becoming members so we were pleasantly surprised. Even at some TS restaurants we received the discount (steakhouse 71, Chefs de France). The server asked us if we had AP or DVC discounts, we said we are DVC. They asked to see the DVC designation in the profile section of MDE app. We showed it and got the discount.

I told DW we shouldn't count on those in the future because we're technically not eligible, but as long as they want to give me a discount I'll certainly take it.

These are considered merchandise locations, not dining locations. I had CM tell me that if I ever wanted to buy a bottled drink to get it inside a retail store. Discounts apply at most merchandise locations.

My guess is that is why mobile orders at these locations qualify for the discount.

FWIW, I have complained multiple times that discounts (DVC, AP, TiW) did not happen automatically in the app. It's good to read that some available discounts may now be working in the app.

sorry, what’s TS? I can’t figure it out!

As someone who normally says "follow the rules" and "don't ask for a discount" I view this as perfectly fine (even though you don't need my approval).

The mobile check out and food orders are automated by Disney. You don't ask for discounts in it as it either does or does not apply.

It should be fixed but specific to you I would not worry about it.

If there is still a discount on mobile check out in the shops or in some restaurants
Yes, the discount is still applied to eligible DVC members and AP holders during mobile check out or mobile food order at discount eligible locations.

Typical Disney IT. Im a blue card only, "ND" on my digital card DVC owner. And we are also AP holders. So Ap should get the discount. But it always auto applies the rate for DVC(says DVC on printed receipt) unless I am physically showing the cashier by phone. At restaurants its always says DVC too.

🤷🏻‍♂️
