Okay, before I decide to go there for lunch I really need to know how crazy things can get...like the real nitty gritty, not just the "suggestions". Please pm me with the details so it doesn't spoil it for anyone else. My hubby is VERY low key and this may put hime over the edge, so I need to know what tho expect. thanks in advance.

It really depends on your server. I have been there several times for lunch and it is not as ruckus as dinner. But you can always ask the hostess to seat you in the library or with a low key cm. By the way lunch is very good there.

I have been twice for lunch and twice for breakfast. Early breakfast can be mellow unless you ask for the ketchup. One lunch was verry mellow and one was the craziest I had seen with the waitress getting everyone onto there feet to sing, clap and dance around.

We have eaten numerous meals at WC, usually breakfeast, but weve hit all 3. It doesen't seem as crazy as it used to be but again much of it revolves around whose on duty. Once my daughter-in-law had to ask for a little entertainment as the whole place was dull. We always been with at least a party of 6 and always had a good time, so I think its a matter of good-better-best.:p

Hi we were there on 10/30/02 for lunch (around 12:30pm) and it was very quiet, which was perfect for us. In fact the resort seemed quiet that day. The food was excellent. the burger and fries I had were delicious. The best I've had in a long time. Of course we travel off season which would explain why things were quiet at WDW that week. Are you going at a busy time of year? As a matter of fact we didn't have a PS and we were seated in all of two minutes. I can't check until Monday but I would be happy to answer any questions.

If your hubby is low key, I would try something more low key than Whispering Canyon... because "whispering" is somewhat of an oxymoron here!

We have eaten dinner there, and 1st of all, you had to shout to be heard across the table. The waiters clomped their service tray stands throughout the restaurant like horses hooves. Kids were encouraged to run through the restaurant on wooden horses (we expected this, but can you say "I need an aspirin?") Our server picked unmercifully, even when asked nicely by my sister in law to stop. She literally had to get ugly with the guy for him to take the hint. Do not ask for ketchup, do not ask for a large drink, and by all means, don't ask for directions to the bathroom... everyone at dinner will know where you are going! Then of course there is the food. Not our favorite by any stretch of the imagination.

We like 50's Primetime, which also has interactive wait staff, but WC was WAY TOO over the top for our taste!

I'm with eeyore0062 on this--place should be re-named "Bedlam Canyon".
In addition to all the shennaigans already mentioned, you might also be asked to slam/bang your utensils on the table as the kids ride around on their "horseys". And wave your table napkin as well--. Oh--and you'll probably be given a "name" by your server--I was "Pardner" while Mrs. Uncleromulus became the "Little Lady"
Definately not a place for anyone low key--

We love the place, it's like watching a TV show, don't like it, don't go.
PS: We're in our sixties and love the place. Remember your at Disney.

I have to agree with gary in florida... if you don't like it, don't go... so of course we won't be going back. Had we known then what we know now, we wouldn't have gone in the 1st place, but that was before we discovered these boards.

It doesn't matter if you are in Disney... if you don't like it.. you don't like it.

We enjoy going to WCC for breakfast. My oldest DS age 14, really asks for it when we go. He edges on the CMs and they really play along with him. They once made him get up in the middle of the room and lead the Hokie Pokie as a punishment!!! All in good fun though.

BUT......my youngest DS age 12, wants nothing to do with any of this. The CMs never bother him. I guess they can just tell from his nonverbal cues or something.

Just my opinion!

I always knew what sort of dinner place it was by walking right on by as we went to Artist Point. Stupidly (as it turned out) I had no inkling that they did all the same sort of stuff at breakfast too--which is the one meal we had at the Canyon.

We have had lunch several times and it was never really crazy!

Kids did the horse race, but that only lasted a couple of minutes. That was the only time it was really noisy
