Whispering Canyon

Oh, and I forgot to add "bottomless milkshakes" even at breakfast....see that smile on DH face?

I apologize if this has been asked before. I just made ADRs today for Friday 1/13 dinner. Are the milkshakes included in the dining plan or would that be an additional charge? thanks!

This is our favorite restaurant at Disney. We'll be eating there next Friday night.

OOOOOOOOOOOH...us too, us too, as I mentioned above. We've never done WCC, so I'm soooo excited. My DD6 is going to love it. Our ADRs are for 8:30.

Does anybody know when they close? That would be a great way to kick off the week. We land at 5:00 pm I would guess after checking in at pop it would be 7:30 or so.

Go go go go!!! We dined at Whispering Canyon Cafe and had a blast with twins 3, 4 and 2 year olds, Dads joined in the pony express, great pictures! I think we laughed all through dinner and the food was fantastic!!!!!

I recently scheduled a dinner for the 'fam' at 8:30pm also..

They do take reservations until 10:00pm the receptionist

Does anyone know whats comes on the child/kids all you can eat skillet for LUNCH (for 6 year old) big eater as the rest of family plans to order rainbow fish which is only served at lunch time. I know you get ribs, mashed potatoes, veg.like green beans, chicken. Is there anything else on KIDS lunch all you can eat skillet? He likes pulled baraque. Does anyone know if thats on there?

The first time we went there we had an absolute blast with Jeffro as our waiter. My boys were 10 and 8 at the time. Jeffro told them he was getting too busy and needed help, so he had my older DS bus our own table, and sent younger DS over to the next table to take their drink order. I still have the piece of paper that says "coke, coke, decaf" on it (this was 6 years ago!). It was the most fun we had at a meal on our entire trip.

The next time we went, we were seated in a really bad section. There is a separate seating area at the far end of the restaurant that has maybe 8 tables or so, and a wall between it and the main seating area. We could hear all this fun stuff taking place in the main dining room, but were not a part of it. It was really disappointing, and our waitress never got "in character". I guess it would be fine if you don't get into the antics, but I would never let them seat me there again.

It's been about 5 years since we've eaten there, and are finally going back next month for breakfast. I don't really care this time around how much our waiter gets into it, as long as we are seated where we can watch others get picked on! :teeth:

We gave this a try 2 years ago, and and an above poster mentioned we were also put into the bad area. I know to to request and only settle for the main area. It would not have been bad if the waiter was in character and the same thing had not happened at 50's Prime TIme (twice). We are giving it a try on our May trip. Can't wait until we get there.

This is one of our ADRs. I can't wait till my boys (6yrs. old) get the special treatment from the wait staff. This will be our first trip to WDW. :cool1: It is good to know to request the main room. I will be sure to do this. Another question, is it ok to switch side dishes with your order?

We did this our last trip and had a hoot! Just went in for dessert as it was our day of arrival and we were just out cruising the hotels to see what was new. My DH had to do the singing of Happy Birthday through the restaurant and lobby while riding the stick horse, just because he wanted the waiter to do something to my sister for her birthday the next day. She still says it was the best birthday gift she ever got. My mom could not finish her dessert and they pulled her out front and center and spoon fed her like an airplane. I swear when we got on the bus people thought we were drunk we were still laughing so hard. It was a great way to start our vacation.

There were 6 of us 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 kids, and we all had fun! :earsboy:

Anyone got anymore pics/stories about Whispering Canyon Cafe? We're thinking of taking the kids!

we have an ADR for our upcoming April/May trip and part of me is excited but part of me is nervous lol! I too would like to hear more stories and see more pics!!

We were there in April 05 and have to say it was the highlight of our trip, dining wise. My kids were 12.5 and 7.

My DD dropped her plate from the table somehow, I mean a full plate of food and the servers started yelling "there's going to be China on that bill and it ain't gonna be a trip!" and would not let me clean it up at all. They replaced her entire meal before the servers were able to clean up the floor. Our server affectionately dubbed her "Droperella".

My kids got so into the antics that when the ketchup call was ordered, my DS7 would run over to that table with our ketchup!

Our server did ALOT to with our table, it was SO much fun, even my DH who didn't want to go at all for fear of embarrassment, got into the antics and let them do something to him to make everyone laugh.

edited to add: we were seated by the windows to the left side of the restaurant for a table of 4, it was great, saw all the action going on and had an ADR for 5:10 and were seated no later than 5:20.

I don't want to spoil their act for anyone, but anyone feel free to email me if you'd like to know.....the food was fantastic also, really enjoyed our time there.

You must try it! Have a great trip :)

I'm making ressie for this! Sounds so fun. I'm not gonna tell the others in my party what the "THEME" will be like, which I have done to 2 of the 3 at Ed Debevic's in Chicago. The one's that have eaten at Ed's still talk about those lunches, 2 years later!

This is one of those things when a little busy is better than nobody there. We went at the end of Aug. and didn't know about all the fun. We were there at 2:45 for a late lunch and it was only us and another couple. We saw no shenanigans. As we didn't know, we didn't miss it and the food was great. I'm now looking forward to our ADR for 5:40 on a Friday nite when we go at the end of this month and how surprised my kids will be. I'm gonna call WC direct that morning and ask if they can seat us with the most outrageous server. 'Course I might come to regret that...... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

ewwww I am thinking I may not be able to make ADR's here ofr DD6's b-day dinner because DH is NOT into this kind of stuff at all. We went to Dick's Last Resort in Myrtle Beach and he almost got in a fight with our waiter because he was pestering DH. I tried to calm him telling him it was only his job and that was what he is supposed to do and he was not having it.

Can someone maybe tell me all the things we should not do or ask for to keep him calm cool and collective.

I know once they find out it is DD's b-day they will focus on her but that is where I would like to keep the focus..On her not him ..Ya know what I mean?

I know he is a stick in the mud, but I cannot change him!!!

I really want to go here though because DD wanted ribs and I got some many good comments on the ribs here.

PLEASE HELP!!!
