Have booked an adr here for our trip in sept for lunch
Just me & my dh, i know theres lots of activity that happens at W.Canyon for kids. Have read that couples are sometimes put in a quite part of the restaurant
Was just wondering what kind of experience we should expect?

Thankyou :goodvibes

We went twice on our last trip and were put in the middle of the action. However, we enjoyed the antics but were not really drawn into any of the stuff. Of course, we made sure we didn't order anything that required ketchup. :lmao: The food was delicious and we had a wonderful time!!!!

DH and I eat at WCC every time we visit WDW. We have been sat twice in the main room, then once in the "quiet" corner. I will tell you, the quiet corner is NOT quiet. LOL A door to the kitchen is on that side and every time a server comes and goes they POUND on the door. I assume it is a safety thing, as if someone on the other side is in the way or coming thru they need to know this massive wood door is coming at them. lol

As I said we love this restaurant. Me for the food, DH the food and the antics. He loves to roll with them. You can expect to be treated just as they do others with kids. Although I have heard lunch is a bit more subdued. (we always go for dinner).

You can always request to have a server INTO the antics or NOT into the antics.

Enjoy your trip and this adr!!

Thats great to know :goodvibes
Luckily i dont like Ketchup although my Dh does so i ll get to sit back & :lmao:

I ve read their milkshakes are really good too, not a big milkshake fan but am thinking i may need to try 1 of they re suppose to be yummy

DH and I had lunch there and they sat us at the table right in the front of the restaurant, people walking by all the time, we asked to be moved but they said we would have to wait another 20 minutes

To add to that we had the biggest dud as a waiter, he had no personality and didnt do the fun and games and jokes we have heard so much about

And to top that off the food was horrible

We have stayed at WL and eaten at WCC many times lunch is usually the quietest of the meals so if you don't want a lot of adventure that is the best meal to eat there. Usually the castmembers can judge their customers and know who to "mess" with and who to leave alone. Just don't get caught "stealing" ketchup from another table instead of asking for it, my DW did and had to go to ketchup jail.

We went in 2008 and it was awful -- service and food were equally bad. There were NO antics going on most of the time we were there (over two hours). For just you and DH, I'd definitely pick somewhere else.

Sorry to hijack this thread but when i went to WCC back in 2009 we had a lunch ADR. I head read all sorts of info on this place, ketchup etc...I also read about asking for a large soda and you recive a huge jar of coke to yourself. I asked our server for a large coke but still got the standard jar size. Did i ask incorrectly ? I knew they did it as someone on another table had one.

We've been 3-4 times in the past 5 years for a mixture of breakfast, lunch and dinner. We've had varied degrees of "fun". I think it's one of those things where you can tell your server if you want to have fun or if you'd like to have a couples type of dinner. We've always taken what we get. I'll never forget the time my dad got a couple refills and then they brough out the big jar for him to drink out of. That was funny in itself, but then to announce to everything that he was on his third refill and was very thirsty so be careful if you ride rides with him later. Priceless!!! And that was a trip with our 6 month old, so we weren't a prime family for funny pranks. Mention it to them and they should be able to meet your request. I would probably say something when checking in and then mention something to your server too... Especially if you don't want any crazy pranks.

It's my understanding that they don't want to "wear out" the funny pranks, so you won't see it happen a lot. If everyone got the same pranks, then it wouldn't be as fun because it would be normal.

Thanks for the reply. I dont like that way of thinking though, what if a young boy wants a huge jar of coke while eating his dinner ? Seems unfair that little Jimmy goes without while Casey sat over there gets his big jar.

DF and I have eaten there the past 2 trips. We've never been seated in the main area. The first time we were seated in the room right off the kitchen. I didn't find it to be too loud being so close to the kitchen but, I may have been distracted by the pretty fireplace we were seated right in front of.
Last year, we were in the far room off the back, overlooking the main lobby. Nice and quiet.
We don't request the quiet areas, that's just always where we end up. Maybe we look like a boring couple?:confused3

How good are the milkshakes there?
Have read they have flavours like bubblegum, curious to know how good that would taste
Would love to see pics :thumbsup2
Are these refillable too?

I still haven't tried the milkshakes there but, yes I do believe they are still the bottomless glass variety. :drinking1

You can't ask for the gallon jar of soda. How you get it is to drink 2-3 refills before your meal is served. They do it as a "joke", if they just give it to you...no fun in that.
I was petrified to get that gallon (as DH always gets it, for him it is a race and yes he always gets it), so I needed just a 1/2 glass of soda more (would've been my third refill) and begged the waitress to not get me that gallon, I just needed a tiny bit more. Well you get what you ask for....she came out with a "thimble" of soda.... It wasn't enough but I didn't dare ask for more. LOL

OP, here are 2 pics of our dinner there last time. (again we love the food here).

The milkshake was the ONLY thing we liked and it was really, really good!

Thats the thing, i had four drinks and what is more funny is that the server commented when passing me the fourth glass by saying "There you go my thirsty friend". :confused3

Take the hint Mr Server !

We have been going there for 8 years, I stopped. The food went way downhill and the antics are absolutely a lot less. I had 2 meals with not great food and so so antics and I gave it up. There are too many better places to eat.

I really miss it!
