I'm trying to decide if we should have dinner one night at Wilderness Lodge. I was initially thinking of Artist Pointe, but a friend of mine mentioned she had read Whispering Canyon was alot of fun, with a western theme to it.

Can anyone give their opinions on it and tell me what goes on there?

Thanks.

WCC is a must do for us!
We go for lunch, DH likes the skillet--all you can eat, the refillable milk shakes are real & tasty, DS17 likes the chicken sandwich & I find the salads fresh & hearty~
Pony races--for adults or kids--be sure to ask for ketchup, wear your best Universal tee, & by all means, tell your server you'd like a tall Pepsi! Feel free to use your cell :teeth:

We love it, but be advised the food is more "quantity over quality".

We always eat there! Dh gets annoyed with it sometimes because it is loud and crazy! It is fun though. Our DD likes the pony races. If you go ask for Ketchup. I have never eaten at Artist Pointe and we stay at WL usually. Check the menu first because it's not for everyone..

Is the lunch atmosphere the same as dinner?

Whispering Canyon is great! Real down home BBQ, with western flair. Great family restaurant! Have eaten at Artist Point, very nice atmosphere, but NOT for kids. Very formal-like, eclectic menu, try this one when the kids are in Cubs Den childcare. That's what we did. Nice restaurant for a quiet dinner. Whispering Canyon cannot be missed....don't forget to ask for ketchup!! :rotfl:

My sons and I really enjoyed the Whispering Pines. The food was good, the shakes great, the servers terrific and the antics hysterical.I had ordered a birthday cake for my son and had it served there. Loud but full of laughs! On the food pictures thread, there are many pics of the food.
Hope you enjoy.

We'd heard that ressies were not required, so we were going to use this one as a flexible dinner, but Disney dining told us that ressies were required. Fortunately, we found this out when making other ressies, so we were able to get a table.

We decided on this one. Sounds like good food and good fun. Plus we are staying at the WL so to me it just made sense to eat here. I am not sure what my husband is going to do if they try to make him get up and do the buttercup dance I have heard about but we will see. :lmao: He made a funny face when I told him about that one.

We are going to be making reservations. From what I have been told they are really a must at any WDW TS.

Yes u shud make ressies here just like any other TS you plan on going to...WCC is lots of fun its a must do for us

WCC is now my favorite place to eat at WDW. The food is wonderful! I loved the skillet and chocolate cake. The antics are so much fun. My family still talks about how much fun this place was! :thumbsup2

Struggling to get early enough ressies for 1st week in April. Made all our other ADRs a couple of months ago and couldn't decide the final 2, now the best they can offer is 8.20pm on all the nights we're there. Guess I'll just have to keep trying and hope for a cancellation :rolleyes1

We love it!! "Bullfrog" is a fantastic waiter there!

Thanks all. Decided to take your advice and make ressies there. Our dining schedule is pretty full as it is, and I'm not a fan of leaving the theme parks mid-day, but figured, there's a Tuesday we'll be at the Magic Kingdom for EMH Morning. So, I made ressies at WCC for 1:00PM. Figure that way, we can take a nice boat ride over to WL, have lunch which is less expensive than dinner, and take the boat back to MK.

Lunch will be alot quieter with most people at the parks. I don't know if that's good or bad for you.
