I rather ask you than my server....don't want to make a beginner's mistake. My son is 8 and would order the skillet but he only likes white meat...may I ask or will I get the business?

We were there last week. The kids skillet only gets the chicken leg or ribs (not both). We weren't able to substitute any other chicken (doesn't like dark meat) so she ended up getting chicken nuggets.

If everyone is getting a skillet, he's allowed to eat from the big one. If he gets a regular kids meal, he's not allowed to. Silly, I know!

So, you should be able to ask your server for white meat on the "big" skillet.

I work at WCC...

OP, yes you can ask for white meat chicken for the kid skillet.

GC&S, sorry you were told you could not sub white meat for the chicken legs in the kid skillet, I do it all the time for my tables.

sharadoc, doesn't matter if everyone at the table gets the skillet, the kids get their own little skillet on a Mickey plate. I personally don't have a problem with a kid ordering a skillet and then eating some extras out of the big skillet but if they order a non skillet meal, they are not suppose to eat of out the skillet.

Well if I pay for meals I can do whatever I want with them. I can give to my 4-yo If I want to. I Paid For It!

Umm, not really.
They have a policy that your family member/friend cannot eat from the skillet if they were not included in the price. If you are caught, you will likely be charged a surcharge or the price of a kids skillet. It's a family style meal charged per person.

Sure you can, but you could very likely be charged for it. Years ago when I waited tables, that's what I would do when an adult would order an "all you can eat item" & nothing for their kid.

Resign yourself to getting the business for something there, so don't worry about it...part of the experience you should both expect and enjoy.

We were told that if we get a big skillet and my kid gets a kids skillet, then he is allowed to eat from the big skillet. Like a buffet - kids pay kids price, there are kids selections, but they are not limited to kids only selection. I believe that's what we both are saying, not sure if you think I said something different.

Actually that's not the way it works at all restaurants. You'll end up paying for the skillet for the child and the meal the child actually ordered if they eat from the skillet.

I don't believe richkorn gets that this is an all-you-care-to-eat meal.

OP -- make sure to ask for Heada Lettuce -- she's the best and you're assured of getting white meat, too.;)
