Whispering Canyon PS ????

I think I might have messed up with our first nights dinner PS. We are driving down and should arrive around 12:00 pm or so. It will be a 15 hour ride. We have a PS at Whispering Canyon for 5:00 pm. I wanted to start the week off with a good place for the kids to get a laugh at, but know i think the early dinner time might be too much after the long drive. How much do the mind you being late with PS's.. Say 1/2 hr to 1 hr late... I'm thinking about resting at the hotel after we arrive so we are fresh when we get to dinner..

I'd call and reschedule your PS. Less stress, less worry all around.

I'd keep the PS. I know my kids and I arrive at Disney ravenous and would love a nice dinner to relax.

We're generally so pumped up with "what's first" that we don't want to just sit around. I'm the oldest of the "kids" in my family though and I'm 25 (brothers 23, 21) so it's a little different.

Oh yeah, and it's normally just a really early morning that morning, not a 15 hour drive.

You can only be 15 minutes late for a PS before it is cancelled. You can make 2 PS's for the same night, keep the 5:00 and make for a little later. That way if you feel like eating at 5:00, you can go then and cancel your later PS. If you are too exhausted to eat, you can cancel your 5:00 that day and keep the later one.

they told us they keep any ps open for you for 20 mins...however, we were late for one for Ohana ( about 5 mins.) and they didn't us count as "in line" till we got there so it was another hr wait. i wonder if they put you in the next open time rather than let you be next in line like a normal ps. just seemed like a very long wait and others got seated before us that had arrived after us. therefore I would make it for when you can actually be on time

Thank You all,, I'm going to try to reschedule tommorrow for around 6:00 pm if they can.. That at least would give us a few hrs to rest at the hotel before heading over to WDW... Can't wait....

whispering canyon was great. try to get a 7-7:30pm seating. the staff is more fun and wild at that time more than later evening times. food was goos and have your kids try the shakes. and always ask for ketchup ans straws

Thank You all for your responses... I was able to change my PS from 5:00 Pm to 6:10 Pm... I think this will work out better.. After a 15 hr drive arriving around Noon,, This will give us time to check in and rest before heading over. Also it's early enough time that after dinner we can enjoy a few hrs in WDW, before it close at 9:00 pm.. Can't wait... just under 4 weeks away...
