Whispering canyon, or Trails End.

I have a noon PS for Whispering Canyon, after EE at MK.
I really want to see WL, which is our main reason for going there.

We are 2nd-guessing our choice. It sounds rather annoying and loud, from some of the posts.

Would we enjoy Trail's End better?, just as much?. It seems a bit more subdoed, after an early morning.

How close is Trail's End to WL. Could we check out WL after lunch, and just look around?

Thanks for any ideas? Oh i forgot. It would be me, my DH, and 2 DD (4, & 8)

IMO, if your priority is the food then go with Trail's End. If your priority is the fun and games that go on at Whispering Canyons then head there. Our kids used to love the goings-on at WC (stick pony races, waiter shenanigans, etc.) but we've never been satisfied with the food. Trail's End has had consistently good food at a great price.

There is a nice petting zoo next to the Trail's End and a barn where you can see the WDW horses. If you want to check out the WL then there is a boat that goes between both resorts and I believe there is also a bus than connects them.

i agree w/Michelemouse. go to trail's end for lunch and then walk it off by walking over to the lodge. it is an easy walk from fort wilderness to the lodge. or take the boat to the lodge! either way, do make the trip to the lodge; you will be glad you did!! not much longer now!

I think we are leaning towards Trail's End. Everyone raves about it, and the price is definately a bargain (at least by WDW standards)

It's getting to be crunch time, and we are trying to finalize our plans, and budget. Trying to downsize a bit. So many good choices.

Well I am going the other way. I enjoy the WC for lunch. We had really good sandwiches there and enjoyed it more then the trails end. If you want to go to TE then go for breakfast not lunch. The restaurants are very different, TE is a buffet and WC is a sitdown service restaurant. After a morning in the park I want to sit down and be served.
As for the walk it is almost a mile and a half from the WL to the PH area. Take the boat from the dock it is much nicer and so relaxing in the middle of the day.

I would definately choose WC over Trails End. While a lot on this board think Trails End is a "bargain". Yes the price is cheap but in my opinion the food terrible. If the food is not good how much of a bargain is it? Plus WC is so much fun for the kids.

DH and I have eaten at both. The food was good at both. However, if you are looking for something more relaxing then go with Trails End. WC is loud and,while some of the antics are fun, they get old after a little while. ( My neice and nephew also were distracted at WC and didn't really eat much because of all the "goings on"). Depends of what you are going for, atmosphere wise.
