Whispering Canyon or not?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have read some mixed reviews about this place, I suppose alot has to do with you server.. But overall is the food pretty good?

I think my kids would love it, but my DH will probably hate it. He doesn't like any attention drawn to him. WE will not be on the DDP either.

I have a question about sharing, the bottomless shakes can't be shared right?
But is it ok for the kids to try ours or vice versa? OR is that considered sharing still.
Thanks for any input

We have been to WC twice and loved it each time. We've never had too much attention drawn to us. People are really busy there at their own tables, and when our son wanted ketchup and the waiter called for all the ketchup .... all the kids in the place near a bottle get up and bring it, but I never felt overwhelmed by that! The food is really good! We all took turns trying each other's shake too! They call kids up for horse races sometimes and they go around the tables ... our kids enjoy that.
If you like quiet, don't go there ... really, every few minutes a table wants ketchup ... you start ignoring it after the first couple of times!
The skillet meal is very tasty! I like the atmosphere and the food and we're booked again for this coming March!

It's a very fun place!!! The food is good. Not great but good. We had a very good experience there. If you play it up with them I think they get into it more.
You can have the kids have some of your shake. that's not a big deal and they won't make it a big deal. I had some of my husband's in a glass. They were great about it and did not care. (I had a different drink.. it's not like I didn't have anything and was sharing off of him)

We're going there for the first time on my son's 7th birthday. I can't wait! Sounds like a lot of fun :)

Yes you should absolutely go. I will agree that the food is not the absolute best Disney has to offer but it is very good. We go almost ever time I go with my family and sometimes I take my team when I am there on business. While my wife and I were on our honeymoon we ate at WCC and as we waited for our table she started to get nervous that they were going to make us stand on our chairs and sing a duet or something but our server was extremely respectful and understanding. I think he was able to pick up on her reluctance and he helped us to have a wonderful night. He bought us a bottle of wine and then after dinner he and the restaurant manager had wine glasses (engraved with our names and the date), a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates sent up to our room at the BC.

I honestly think that they gauge their level of "fun" on the vibe they are getting from you. If you mess with them they will mess with you. If you are quiet and talking to your family, friends they understand and they respect that. Go and enjoy yourselves!

We personally love the WCC at dinner. We aren't however fond of the skillet meal but the regular menu offers comfort food like fried or roasted chicken, meatloaf and pot roast.

There is lot of interaction and if you play up with them you get even more. Our girls last time did a pig drop w. our server from the 7th floor into the lobby. NOT a REAL pig but a stuffed pig with a parachaute.

Have the kiddos ask for ketchup, straws, gum or where a universal T-shirt....but don't tell them what will happen.

Enjoy!

We have never been disappointed. We don't like attention, but we love fun!
So we roll with the flow! The food is good, but not my must eat every trip food.

The food is decent, not great, but not bad. My dh does not like attention either. Our server got the message (by the look on his face) and was very calm. He did get kind of annoyed by just watching the antics of some of the other servers, but managed to get through the meal without complaining too much. The kids had a good time, especially doing the pony races and getting wooden nickels. Give it a try. It's only one meal. If my dh could deal with it, yours can too. ;)

If you go, order something besides the skillet meal. It's OK, not fabulous! We enjoyed the atmosphere as it stayed very busy, but it wasn't bad. We wouldn't necessarily choose to eat there again, but if we were with someone who wanted to go, we would!

alright, it seems like it is something that you need to try at least once!?
