I am trying to decide today for sure what exactly to to the first day. The plan is to be at WDW around 11 a.m. and spend the day at DTD. We will probably eat at Earl of Sandwich and Ghirdellis. I don't know about the other meal. Should we go to Whispering Canyons for lunch and then head out to DTD for the day? Or go to DTD for lunch and go on over to Whispering Canyon for dinner. Or just stay at DTD all day and eat dinner there too. So many decissions. I am not sure since we will be just getting there of how we would get to Whispering Canyon. Take a bus from DTD? Is it hard to find the right bus? Or just go ahead and drive. Any suggestions??? TIA

Our plan is to go to the Pepper Market for lunch the first day, with Wilderness Canyon for dinner. We have a long drive the day prior, so part of the family will just be hanging around the resort to swim and play. I'm taking DS17 to Central Florida University for a college visit between meals. Hope we don't have any problem getting back in time for our reservation.

If I were you, I'd be tempted to eat at Wilderness Canyon for lunch. You won't need to eat again until late, so a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich would do the trip.

I would vote for WCC for dinner if you're looking for the atmoshpere and antics. I've heard it's on the quiet side for lunch. I would also drive if you have a car. The bus between WL & DTD comes about every 25 minutes and makes a few other stops. We missed one by just a few minutes then between waiting for the next bus (from WL to DTD) and making other stops, it wound up being 45 minutes.

Thank you for the replies!!! I think we've decided to do DTD for the day and then go to the Boardwalk for the evening. So I am going to leave dinner open. If we can catch Beaches & Cream not too crowded maybe we will just eat there. :flower:

It is really easy to spend an entire day at DTD. There is an awful lot of stuff to see and do. We love  Earl of Sandwich--we have eaten there 4 times in two trips. We went to WCC for lunch in June and it was pretty quiet--if you want the full experience then I agree with SomePixiedust and suggest dinner.

We were at WCC last week for dinner with friends and their kids, who had driven 7 hours that day. Although we had a wonderful time and the antics were fun, I think a quieter dinner would've been a better choice for that night. I wish we had saved WCC for another evening.

What and where is Whispering Canyon? I keep hearing about it but know nothing about it.
