Whispering Canyon or 50's Prime Time?

I'm totally stuck. Can't decide between these two.

My son really loves "retro" things, so I think he'd get a kick out of Prime Time, and we've never eaten there...but I've heard the food and antics at Whispering Canyon are great, too.

Anyone want to weigh in?

I have been to both locations and I would go with 50's Prime Time Cafe because I liked their food and atmosphere a lot better.

Like CR Resort; I have been to both locations; however, I have the opposite opinion. I like WCC for the food and the atmosphere better than 50's PT. ;)

I'm just not real crazy about having an evening of fried chicken, pot roast or meatloaf when I'm at WDW.

We loved WCC on our 1st trip there. We went back a 2nd time & it wasn't as good as we remembered but we still liked it. On our 3rd visit, we decided not to go back again. It went downhill every time. If you've never been, it's fun & the food is good but not great.

We tried 50s PT on our last trip, at our middle DD's begging insistence. We had pretty low expectations but we all absolutely loved it. It was the 1st place on our to do list for our upcoming trip.

I don't think you'll be truly disappointed in either. Both are good family fun. Have a great trip!

We just went to both last April. I polled my two kids (DS 13 and DS11 at the time). They both said 50s Prime Time hands down. ITA. The food was good at both places. At WCC it was very loud and the same old jokes seemed to be going around. Our server at WCC did no antics with us at all and just kept asking if we needed more food right after she served the BBQ platter. We finally said yes just to get her to stop asking and then we felt bad because she brought out even more than the first time and we wasted a ton of food. We had Uncle Dale at 50s PT and he was very friendly. He didn't tease us too much but we enjoyed the meal and the service. The PB&J shakes were delish too!

Definitely 50's PTC! It's one of my family's must do's. The food is soooo good (especially the fried chicken or pot roast) and I like the antics better. The setting is fun too. That'd be my pick!

Another vote for 50's prime time. LOVE the PB&J shake, and the quality of food is much better imo.

It's funny how different people have such different tastes. We prefered WCC over 50's PTC. Actually 50's was very disappointing for us. I had the chicken and it was dry, my hubby had the meatloaf which was just OK. The Dad's sundae one of our least favorite desserts of the whole trip. WCC was all really good.

WCC is one of only 2 restaurants that is on my "tried twice, that's enough" list. 50's is much better.

I would go to WCC for the cornbread alone. I really like 50's PT but WCC has become a must do on every trip.
My kids also love the antics there, where as they sometimes take the teasing at 50's PT a little personally. ;)

50's PT for us! DS insists on lunch there every trip (he's 10 now). We've done WCC a couple of times (once when we stayed there). It was fine and the food was good, but DW and I could care less about returning and our son never requests it. I think he's kinda outgrown the shtick at WCC, while he seems to get the joking more each time we go to 50's PT.

I can't weigh in the differences as much... as I've just experienced both in May 2010...

50's Prime Time was a "Night Before" ADR that we landed... I had a disfanatic friend who recommended the Pot Roast....

(I laughed! I don't go to WDW For : POT ROAST !)

OMG... it was the most delicious thing I ate that whole day..... and completely overshadowed HBD for me... (YES ! Hollywood Brown Derby !)
go figure..

For my one time there.. the food was awesome... ANtics? WE really didnt' have any.... did the waitress think since it was myself and DS18 we didn't care for that? I don't know... but was a bit disappointed in that aspect of it... but not enough to NOT recommend 50's......

We landed a Breakfast WCC meal.... I loved it... both the antics and the food were great.... I had the omelet.... it was delicious ! I was clued in a bit to prod the antics there....and was satisfied with what we got... OF COURSE DS ordered a Coke for breakfast... (I had to prod a bit )... asked for a fork... a gentleman nearby asked for ketchup.... It was fun....

Hugs,
Mary

One more vote for Prime Time! I love this place (my 3rd job is a waitress and I'd love to treat some of my customers like they get to for sure! :thumbsup2)

My kids HATE this place because the server feeds them their veggies but we are going again next month because my Dad has never been and the restaurant reminds me of his mom's kitchen from years ago when she was alive. The food is good and you get soooo much!!

I vote WCC... I am not a fan of the antics at 50'sPTC, and I love WCC's entertainment! Food is pretty good at both places.
