Whispering Canyon Cafe

This was the only ressie my family insisted on going back to this year. We all shared the skillet meal and found it to be very yummy! We had so much fun and enjoyed the antics of the waiters. And who can beat the atmosphere of the Wilderness Lodge. You will enjoy. I have a pic of my girls with a lot of ketchup, but I can't figure out how to post it. But I'll say they had so much fun with the ketchup exchange. The couple who my girls had to give all the ketchup too didn't really want to play along, so when they had to give their ketchup away my girls went and did it for them. Fun, Fun, Fun

YAY! Thanks for the positive feedback everyone! My mom and brother are pretty quiet but hopefully my dad will play along with me!!

If you don't want to be interrupted by princesses or fuzzy characters, perhaps you shouldn't book character meals.

That was rude.

It was my favorite meal of the trip, a nice break from character meals while still having a very fun and enjoyable atmosphere. I will say that if you like country home cooking, you'll like the menu just fine.

Driving from NJ?! How far is that?

anyways, thanks everyone for your thoughts! I had originally just booked a kona breakfast on easter but then decided to add a dinner. I wanted to do a character dinner but there was literally no availability anywhere! so I have kind of always wanted to try WCC and they luckily had an opening. Should be a fun Easter dinner hehe!
:woohoo: :drive: :drive: :drive:

Took us 18 hours last time we went (2 years ago). but now we are driving with a 2,4,6,8 year old...Must be insane(lol). last time we drove straiight through, but this time are planning a stop in SC for 2 days.

We found it to be ok. When our waiter was around, he was funny. But he wasn't around much. Food was ok. Happy we did it but won't be sad if we don't do it in the future.

We have ADR's here for our trip in April/May. I have a question, DH and I will probably get the skillet, do they offer this for kids also? The other quesiton is our oldest is 10 can she still order from the kids menu? She doesn't eat close to enough to make it worth while to order an adult menu item.
Thanks for your help, we are really looking forward to it.

Oh we love it there! We've dined there a few times now and one year, we went with my cousin (she was 9 at the time) who were very shy, and needed ketchup. But the rule was you have to stand up and shout for it, she refused (she didn't even want us to do it b/c she didn't want anyone looking at us) and went ahead to eat w/out the ketchup and our server knew, so she went and got her a bottle from the back and didn't make a big fuss about it...I thought that was very sweet. :lovestruc But we do enjoy each visit, the food is really yummy (just be sure to take aspirin ahead of time if you have a headache)!!! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to book a breakfast AND a dinner ADR since we will be staying at WL now! It seems like a great environment for DS because if he has to stim or something he won't disturb anyone.:thumbsup2
