I am thinking about going to WCC on one of my days in the magic kingdom. I understand you can get the boat there from the entrance - is that right? If so do you have to be a resort guest to use it? I'll be staying off-site and I don't really want to drive round as it sounds like it would take a while and I thought the boat trip would be a nice change.

Also how long does it take? Is it worth taking the time out from the park? :confused3

The food is very good and the crowd is usually rowdy, If you like silly fun and good food its a great place.
The boat is a nice 15 minute ride. I believe your admission media to the MK provides you with use of Disney transportation for that day, having said that, I have NEVER seen anyone asked for resort or admission ID in order to use any of the transportation.

I've never seen anyone on any disney transportation anywhere ask for any kind of resort/park id.
Whispering Canyons is a great place to eat. Can be loud and rowdy, so if you're not looking for that, you might want to rethink it. Great food! It's a MUST on our next trip!

the food was very good and the atmosphere fun. the best part is the great ketchup. dont forget to ask for some. steve

You can take the boat over. You don't have to be a resort guest.
WCC is a lot of fun. Lunch is not as rowdy as breakfast and dinner ( at least it wan't a couple years ago)
I don't know if I would take time out of the park to go. It will take about 20 minutes to get over there. (From what I remember)
But like I said it is a lot of fun and we had a great time there!!!!

sounds like you have some personal experience there :stir:

why yes bigdisneydaddy i do have several experiences at wcc, the experience is made better with good company!! heck even did "im a little tea pot" there one time.
i think the ketchup love is genetic!!!!!

To OP as stated by another poster the cost of all disney transportation is included in with the cost of your ticket to the park so please take the boat from MK (it is a nice change of pace as you stated). Not to mention that by the time you take the monorail or ferry to the parking lot then the tram to your car and then find the back streets to get to WL you would've already have been there by boat. Have a wonderful meal.
