We're going to WDW in June and Iam booking my ADRs. I thought WCC would be fun... but in the time I've been on the Dis (only since last summer) it seems to have dropped off the radar. Should we skip it? I thought my teen age son would get a big kick out of it and that the food would be good. If not, what would you substitute?

We ate breakfast and dinner there when we stayed at the WL a few years back. We really enjoyed breakfast and actually went back again. Dinner, not so much. The atmosphere & stuff was really fun but we did not really care for the food. Thought the ribs were kinda tough. But that is only our opinion and we could have been on an off night. We haven't gone back to give it another try.

What about Biergarten as an alternative? That is always fun for us. Or 50's Prime Time which can be really fun with "Mom" forcing your DS to eat his veggies.

Like all things you have to try for yourself. There are lots of people who love it and as many who hate it.

We love WCC, we have never not loved our food and the kids (including my hates everything teenager) love it there. We go every trip and are always happy, but I have seen many reviews say the exact opposite. I say look at the menu and then decide if it is a place you want to try.

I probably didn't help, sorry, but have fun!!!

We hated it and won't be going back. The service was terrible from the minute we arrived to check in until we left; the food mediocre at best and DH got sick on the food. Now we did dinner, maybe breakfast is better.

However, if it something you are really interested in, you should try it for yourself. Just like resorts, everyone has their own personal preference, taste, etc.

we just went and i loved the food and the atmosphere...the server we had was HORRIBLE it took about an hour for her to come back to the table to bring the check and since DH and the kids left she didnt even bother asking about dessert (we were on the ddp) i wanted it to go...anyway i guess if u get a good server u will have a blast

Thanks guys..the reviews are really interesting and different. Getting sick would be a deal breaker for me too KatMark! We'd be going for dinner because my son wants to "do" the skillet.;)

We went, we ate, we won't be going back. I'm thankful for the experience, but once was enough. I loved the bottomless milkshakes, but couldn't finish the first.....So it didn't apply to me. As a previous poster stated, the food was mediocre at best, but I did enjoy the silliness that goes on in the restaurant. The best thing about the WCC is it's location.

That's what DH got--the skillet. We might try breakfast in a few years.

As others have said, we found the food to be mediocre to bad. (Also had the skillet and I think my sister had an enchilada)

Our server was a dud and we were seated in a middle area that didn't have a view of either dining room. So overall we had mediocre food and no show. Very negative experience for us.

Since you're never guaranteed a show, I'd base my decision to go or not on the food.

Ate dinner there last trip and loved it. We had the skillet and we all thought it was great. We're going back this trip for dinner, and breakfast, since we're staying at the WL.

I would say skip it. The antics are hit and miss and the last time we ate there the food was awful (the skillet). But if you think your family will enjoy it, try it. You may be one of the ones who love it.

I loved Whispering Canyon Cafe. It has been 4 years since I have been there but my DS4 (at the time) LOVED it. I am taking THREE boys back this time in about 10 days - I can't imagine not taking them there.

I am sure you could find better food if that is not your taste - but we enjoyed it for the whole experience and the WL is amazing. I am very excited to take the boys to see the other resorts each night when we eat out and WCC and three high energy boys is a great fit. :)

We absolutely loved it. The whole family had the skillet and it was really good. Our waitress was hysterical. The kids loved what happened when they asked for ketchup and getting to ride "horses" around the restaurant. Everybody is going to have a different experience. IMHO I don't know how anyone can have "bad" dining anywhere.... When we're at Mickey's house, everything tastes great!!!!

We always get the skillet and love it. Actually, we love everything about that place. We're going back this summer.

I agree that the antics can be hit or miss - alot of it depends on your server. Thankfully, when we were there in December, we had a great one. My 3 boys just LOVED the ketchup nonsense and milkshakes.:thumbsup2

We'll be doing dinner there in June and hoping for a good time and decent food;) I took the plunge.
Made ADRs late this afternoon..my son really wants to go. I'm not so hot about it but I've got the Wave to look forward to:lovestruc
Thanks all for your opinions!

We went last September and liked the food. The service was slow, but it was during free dining so all the restaurants were packed. They didn't do many of the crazy antics, but I figured that was due to free dining and the amount of people going through there. We are planning on going back in August with free dining again. The resort is awesome just to walk around the grounds and take some pictures. My son also loved taking the boat to get there. Overall I liked it quite a bit. The milkshakes were great!

We went there in 2002 for breakfast and enjoyed the food and the entertainment. Stick pony races and jokes were my favorite. :rolleyes1
