I will be going to WDW for 4th of July week and have ADR's for Whyspering Canyon Cafe. I had a question on how the credits are used for the skillets. Does each person give 1 TS for the skillet. Also if one person wants a different meal an they use their credit for something else.
thanks

Yes, each person uses a credit for the skillet, and not everyone has to order the skillet.

And if one person orders the skillet, does that cover his appetizer and dessert, or does he order either one of those separately? I assume those at the table not ordering the skillet can still get an appetizer and dessert.

We ate there 2 weeks ago. I got the skillet which included my appitizer, but I got to choose my dessert. DH got the steak, so he got to choose both his appetizer and dessert.

TruBlu - did your DH like the steak at WCC? We're going in Sp for our first night and I was thinking he skillet may be too much and that we should just order a meal for each of us - what do you think? Also, my DH is not into country type food (like Cracker Barrell - which I LOVE)

Thanks! Now I just have to figure out how to fit WCC ADR's into our schedule. Methinks we'll have to add an extra day to the trip. :rolleyes1

You two sound a lot like us! DH said that the steak was OK. His description of it was "it was your typical steak that you would get from a restaurant that doesn't specialize in steak". He did eat it all, but said that he would rather try a different restaurant next time. For me the skillet was very good. The meats were greasy, but still good. I didn't care for the sausage. The veggies and salad were very good, as was the corn bread. We really had a great time there! DH and the boys LOVED the nachos. AND the banana dust bowl was FANTASTIC!

We are a family of four
If 3 of us wants the skillet the 4th person can order some thing else right?
But can that person share a little bit of the skillet and can we share the appetizer because i don't really eat much of the meats but i would like to try some of the veggies

6 days til we go to the World

Whats on the menu besides the skillet?
If you've had any of it before tell me how it was

Does anyone have any pics of the food

Hi guys,
I work at the WCC, so here are some answers to your questions:

-If there are 4 people ,for example, and 3 want the skillet, and one doesn't, no problem. Not everyone has to get the skillet if one person does. Technically, one cannot share the skillet, so as long as you are sort of discreet about tasting a couple of items off of the skillet if you didn't order it, it is no big deal since you are on the DDP and having something else to eat.
-There are no appetizers for kids on the kids menu yet, they are working on it.
-The Pork Chops are AWESOME! Really! If you aren't feeling like eating a ton of BBQ, and if you are on the DDP it isn't like you won't have enough food, get the pork chops, they are great.
-We also have: A vegetarian stew, grilled chicken chipotle pasta (good!), NY Strip (have never heard anything but good things), meatloaf (hmmmm), roasted chicken, and sauteed grouper.
-Oh, and corn bread comes with everything. Some people order the skillet just because they want corn bread, no need to do that, it comes out with everything!

Enjoy, it is a great restaurant and a lot of fun, your kids will love it!

Spicey, thanks for sharing this information. :)

We have a 13 year old daughter and a 16 year old daughter. We have never been to the WCC before, but I have an ADR for our upcoming trip. Do you think that our DD's will like the place? Not necessarily the food, but the "fun" part of it?

Beth,
It is a place that is fun for everyone, adults and kids seem to have a blast. But, you know teenagers! If they are "typical" teenagers, then they may not like all of the hoopla and potential that they may get "picked on". I have had teenagers that just love every minute of it, I have some that look at me like I am an alien where I feel like I have to say to them, "we are supposed to be yelling and carrying on, you know!". So, really it all depends on how they are, I guess. It also depends on your server. Some of them are crazy and really get rowdy, some are not, but even if your server isn't rowdy, it's more like the whole restaurant is involved, so you won't be "left out" so to say....

You will be the one to know the definite answer to my question. We are on the dining plan and will be going in November. I plan to order the skillet -- had it last time and loved it. Will I be able to share the skillet with my dd2. She is not on the dining plan because she's not old enough. I was told that she is free at buffet and family style and that we could share our meals with her or buy her a child's meal. What's the rule on the skillet -- is that "family style" or "sharing my meal"?

Thanks for the thoughts, Spicey. I have an ADR for WCC and I think that it should be fun - think the girls will too - whether from what goes on at our table - or by watching what goes on at other tables. :)
