We have been to the WCC many times for breakfast, and LOVED the atmosphere! This is why we decided to try dinner there.
My family (8 adults and 1 child ) went to Whispering Canyon Cafe on Saturday, March 29 with ADRs for 7:05 p.m. We arrived at 6:25 p.m. and checked in. We were told we would be seated close to our ADR time. I was very upset when 7:30 came around and was still not seated. We were finally seated at 7:49!
Once we were seated, our waitress came around and got our dinner and drink order at the same time because we were starved. This is when I started to get a bit annoyed. The atmosphere was TOTALLY different. The staff was not up to any antics. It was definably more toned down.
Our drinks came out about 10 minutes later as did the cornbread and appetizers. We ordered the chips and queso dip as well as the 3 soups. Everything was very good. The soup was creamy and flavorful. The chips were fresh and the queso dip was very good.
Then came another wait time...roughly about 20 minutes for our entrees. My party opted to order entrees instead of the all you can eat dinner. The pasta dinner was very good as was the meatloaf. HOWEVER, the ribs were AWFUL!!! They were hard and VERY fatty.
As for the atmosphere, they had one pony race around the dining hall. I felt that the CMs where not into it at all. The breakfast seems to get the CMs fresh and ready for a bit of antics.
I was very disappointed with this experience.
