We have been to the WCC many times for breakfast, and LOVED the atmosphere! This is why we decided to try dinner there.

My family (8 adults and 1 child ) went to Whispering Canyon Cafe on Saturday, March 29 with ADRs for 7:05 p.m. We arrived at 6:25 p.m. and checked in. We were told we would be seated close to our ADR time. I was very upset when 7:30 came around and was still not seated. We were finally seated at 7:49!

Once we were seated, our waitress came around and got our dinner and drink order at the same time because we were starved. This is when I started to get a bit annoyed. The atmosphere was TOTALLY different. The staff was not up to any antics. It was definably more toned down.

Our drinks came out about 10 minutes later as did the cornbread and appetizers. We ordered the chips and queso dip as well as the 3 soups. Everything was very good. The soup was creamy and flavorful. The chips were fresh and the queso dip was very good.

Then came another wait time...roughly about 20 minutes for our entrees. My party opted to order entrees instead of the all you can eat dinner. The pasta dinner was very good as was the meatloaf. HOWEVER, the ribs were AWFUL!!! They were hard and VERY fatty.

As for the atmosphere, they had one pony race around the dining hall. I felt that the CM’s where not into it at all. The breakfast seems to get the CM’s fresh and ready for a bit of antics.

I was very disappointed with this experience.

Oh, I don't want to hear that...we have ressies there in August on our last night..I thought we should end with a hoop-la....maybe it was just a bad night??

Sorry you had a bad experience. They were probably behind on their ADRs and they were probably trying to catch up, and didn't want to slow things down with their "antics". That's just my guess. ...but I can totally understand your disapointment.

:rainbow: we stayed at WL in feb. 08. The best stay by the way. we had reservations at wc for dinner, and breakfast that week. our first dinner resy was hillarious! our waitress came right away, she took our drink order, then when she returned with drinks, she thru our straws at us, kids and us cracked up. my son was thirsty, and asked for more ice tea, 14 yr. , and she ended up bringing him this giant jar of ice tea, and announced that every one better get out of his way, if he needs to use the restroom. we had a great time, where else but DW , could this happen! anyway, the food was very good. to someone who did not like the ribs, they were great, i love good barbecue. good cornbread, we were so stuffed when we left there, my dh, and dd, ds, and myself loved it so much , we made resies the next nite, and got in, in fact we ended up pushing back our time, and was accomidated quite well. they were all friendly, then me and my dh, went down for breakfast one morn. , kids wanted to sleep in. so we went alone, and then quite amused. we were entertained so early, and loved it. i do got to say that the all you can eat breakfast was greasy. the next time, i will order different. i would not want to miss any of the waiters, and waitresses , what they will do or say next. hope you enjoy like we did.
