Whispering Canyon Cafe or Grand Floridian Cafe

Can't decide on whether to have dinner at either the WCC or the GFC. Which is better & why? At the WCC, can you get the fried chicken at dinner that is offered at lunch time?

I voted for WCC because I like the atmosphere there and the food is good too. I don't know if you can get the Fried Chicken or not. I haven't been to the GFC and the menu looks ok but it's not a place I would make a special trip to if not staying at the GF.

I picked wcc just because of the atmosphere..I am just a big kid anyways and my kids love it.. gfk is more geared towards adults but they do have great food as well from what I hear.

I voted for the GFC because it is one of my favorite restaurants at WDW. The menu is great and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We went to WCC as our last restaurant of the trip to WDW last summer, and I don't think we are going back. The atmosphere is very loud, however, that is part of its theme and many people really like this factor. We weren't too excited about the food at WCC either. I guess you either love it, or you don't. There is not much of an inbetween. If you have been to the Hoop-de-doo Revue, and loved it, then you will certainly love the WCC.

The GFC has a VERY good menu, and the waiters are very kind and are always prepared for any kind of questions you may have about your meal, or the Disney World parks. It also has a beautiful view of the GF garden. If you are eating there for lunch, be sure to order the chocolate fondue for dessert, and if you eat there for dinner, make sure to get the, I believe it is called, the Cinderellabration Dessert. That was excellent!

Well, this is my two cents. Just keep in mind, if you are into the western theme eat at WCC, and if you are in the mood for a quiet, and more serene dinner, eat at the GFC.

I voted for GFC-- I like WCC, but if given the choice of the two I would prefer the one without the extra stimulation and noise! I'm not a grump, but there are some days when the last thing I want when I am hot and tired and hungry is the zaniness of WCC. I also prefer the food at GFC any day over WCC.

Definitely depends on what kind of meal you like. Both are good.

Grand Floridian Cafe is really Victorian looking. Very pretty. Excellent service and the food is more of the nicely prepared "chef" kind and delicious. We've eaten there quite a bit and have never had a bad meal. It is one of our "not to be missed". We LOVE the chocolate fondue!!!

Whispering Canyon is all together different. It's much rowdier and loud. The food is good with a "country" flair. Altogether different atmosphere. I think you will have fun at either one, it's just the kind of meal you want.

I voted for GFC, just because it's one of our favorites.

Just a personal opinion, but I would rather GFC. My kids liked WCC, but I was not overwhelmed by it - it was fun and different, but the food was not great...not bad, just not great.

If you want fun, loud and festive...then WCC is the place for you.

If you want something more subdued and a little more relaxed and slightly more "upscale" (but not stuffy), then GCF is the place.

I voted for WCC. Not that I have been to either one of them... yet but I will be in just a couple of weeks. I have already made dinner reservations for WCC on our first night. Really looking forward to it.

Completely differrntt atmospheres. I prefer the food hands down at the GFC. WCC can be fun but the food is just so so passable IMHO

If you are going solo, then GFC is definitly the choice for you! WCC is more of a family orientated restaurant. I think you would enjoy GFC much better .

Solo??? Well, then, unless you want a solo "hog wallerin', back slappin' shoutin' n screamin' good time", I'd pick GFC. I like the comment 3ForMe made, upscale feel but certainly not stuffy at all, it's just a very nice place to eat. I also agree with everyone else. My husband thought the food was good at WCC, but I really didn't eat all that much, I wasn't the most impressed either.

When we disagree on a restaurant, I always hesitate to say if it's "not good", since one of us did like it. I'd definitely eat there again, and have a meal planned there for breakfast in October. Mostly because we're taking my sister's friend who will love the "antics".

Isn't there a small area off to the side of the restaurant for people to dine at WCC, but not in the main dining room? It only holds about 4-6 tables. Can I ask to be seated there?

My vote is for GFC. We love their lunches and dinners. We have never been disappointed.
