If you had to choose between WCC or Boma for a family of 4 with a DS6 and DD3 which would you choose?? :confused3

I voted Boma based on the question in your poll. Then I read your post and saw that you have a DS6 and a DD3. In that case, I would go with WCC. Maybe you should change the question in your poll to something like:

WCC or Boma for dinner for family of 4 with a DS6 and DD3?

I have been to both and enjoyed them both. I like Boma better because I like buffets (I'd rather eat a little of several different things than a lot of one thing). But WCC is really geared towards kids -- they get the chance to get up and run around during dinner and the whole place is very kid-focused so for kids that age, I would choose WCC.

I can tell you what I chose and hope that helps you choose.

Boma has made my list the past two years. I liked it. It's a bit different so if you have very pickey eaters, I'd hesitate. But there is a lot of kid's type standard faire there too. I really liked it and it's made my list again. It's only one of 3 places that did so even though I would return to all but one place I went last year. If you haven't tried it and aren't absolutely new types of food averse, try it once. If you are, you may find yourself eating off the kid's pod. And It is very fun to go over to AKL and look at the Savannahs while you are waiting. That activity is fun for kids.

WCC was the last place crossed off my list both years. It sounds like fun with the antics. Getting 30 bottles of catsup when my son asked would be priceless. And you just know I'd have to sucker the pepsi lover in our family to ask for one. But the antics aren't guaranteed. And what ultimately doomed it last year, and this year, is I fond the BBQ counter places like Flame Tree in the AK, and Cosmic Rays (Ribs only) to be very good. And it just didn't quite make the list again. And with other table food choices out there that are different, I just couldn't pull the trigger on WCC. Maybe next year. Hope that helps.

I voted before I read your post...

Just based on chosing between WCC and Boma, I would chose Boma - no contest! However, when I saw the age of the kids, depending on how picky they are, they might enjoy WCC. That and you won't have to worry about going back and forth to the buffet.... WCC has the entertainment... the bottomless milkshakes... I just think it would be a better experience for the kids...

However, I absolutely love the food and selections at Boma!!! :thumbsup2

I voted before I read your entire post. With kids, Whispering Canyon, sans kids, Boma, hands down.

With kids I would go w/ Boma. We ate there last year and it's worth trying but the food was a little beyond our comfort zone. We love different flavors and spices but we were still hungry when we left. And my dd's 5 &9 weren't happy w/ Boma.

We just went to both in late March. We have to girls 7 & 10. We didn't really care for Bomas we won't be back but Whispering Canyon Cafe was GREAT! The bottomless milkshakes were really good and the food was awesome. The meat was tender and full of flavor. There's alot for the kids to see and do. They have a lego table set up for kids to play with while waiting to be seated. O'hanas and WCC were at at they top of our list for next year.I think it's better then a buffet because it's served family style all you can eat. :goodvibes

I think with the little ones, they might enjoy WCC a bit more. We were there when our son was almost 5 and he really enjoyed the antics and activities. We thought the food was really good and we had an excellent server! We tried to go to Boma this January but the wait was too long (it was a last minute meal) so we ate at Jiko instead, which was amazing, but not so special for our ds. I don't think you'll be disappointed either way, cause if you do Boma, I'm sure your little ones will like looking around AKL. Have fun!-Rebecca
