We have been going to the WCC for years it's my daughter favorite meal. 2 trips ago the food seemed to be worse than usual, this last trip my meal was so bad I didn't eat it. I got the pasta, it was beyond bland. It's what I always get....it was never great but this past time...shudder!

I have noticed that they really changed all the extra stuff they do, there is a recorded message about the pony rides, not as many gags, they stopped with the napkin hats and now use paper napkins. I was willing to overlook the bad food because it was so much fun but this last trip the only thing they did in the 90 minutes we were there was a pony race and of course the ketchup.

I am sad about the dumbing down on what was really a fun Disney experience.

Sad to hear that:sad2:

I've been going to WDW for over 30 years and I've found ( particularly in recent years) that there is no real consistency as to the experience or the quality of food. It's really a hit or miss thing. I quit going to WC several years ago because it just didn't seem up to live up to the quality I first experienced back in 1993 or whenever it was WL opened.

We were disappointed our trips in November and April that they don't do any of the fun stuff anymore. Yes, did the pony rides, they sang the hokey-pokey and did the ketchup bit... but that was it. Wish they'd bring back the fun stuff!
Food - I love the skillet there, and those that have dined there with my family have all concurred that the only thing anyone liked was the skillet and the chips & queso - yummy, and the salad. Otherwise, anything else anyone with us has ever ordered they've been disappointed with our last two trips.

thanks for letting us know. Thats why im afraid to book at WCC. You just never know what you are going to get. Some people have fun experiences, others not and dont want to risk having a bad experience with so so food.

This was one of our favorites. sorry to hear about the lousy experience. It doesn't surprise me though, disney dining is really been disappointing over the last 2 years IMO.
for the first time, I dont really expect to have any great meals during our trip inAugust.

I was not impressed with WCC at all. We had an awful experience in September. The service was horrible (we were there for over two hours), the food was bad (DH got sick on the meat in the skillet) and we saw nor heard any of the antics that everyone talks about in the over two hours we were there. Unless you want to see the resort, I'd skip WCC.

Our 2007 Whispering Canyon experience was horrendous! The food was okay at best, but we never got any refills of certain foods on the Skillet. The desserts were probably the best part.

We were there on June 19, 2009 and had a great time. My granddaughter was brought a very large fork and a large drink. There was some really funny birthday antics, a waiter accually ate the poor kids desert. Of course we all ordered the skillet and it was really good. Guess it's hit or Miss!

My family had a good meal there in May. We got the skillet, and my dad and brother love barbeque, so they were in heaven. My dad actually made the mistake of asking for more BBQ sauce one too many times and was brought a GIANT portion. Our waitress, Lazy Susan, was busy but fun. We don't care about the games and such, so I didn't notice how many there were, really. Overall, a good experience.

This has always been one of our favs too.... a definite every trip. On our last trip this past oct we had a terrible time there. The service was absolutely the worst anywhere during our whole trip. the food was okay...not nearly as good as I remember. We were celebrating my son's 10 bday there so it was even more disappointing. We even bought a cake from them (which was very expensive) and it wasnt very good. They did nothing to help us celebrate his birthday..didn't seem to care in the least that we were there for a special occasion. It was a huge let down. We won't be scheduling a dinner there for our upcoming dec. trip, but will definitely stop by the lodge to take in the beautiful xmas decorations and atmosphere.

We are going there in September and I'm looking forward to it. I'm a little worried about the "fun" stuff they do to you, but the Skillet looks good. I've seen pictures from people we knew and it's made me want to try it out since then. Hopefully it will be good. To bad about your experience, maybe your next time will be better.
