Whispering Canyon Café and Mickey's Backyard BBQ

I am going to WDW in august and have made reservations for these two restaurants. Any recent reviews?

I have to tell you that the BBQ is not a restaurant. There is a large pavilion with long sets of "picnic" tables. There is a dance floor in the center along with a stage. I think that the food was good and there was plenty of it. The atmosphere is a little like controlled chaos, if your family likes that kind of thing you will enjoy it. The characters come out to dance and the kids join them. They are accessible and they do come out often. They do not circulate to the tables. My DGD was overwhelmed by this so we left not too long after we ate and watched the show. I would suggest getting there early as there is no reserved seating so the tables near the center go quick.

Whispering Canyon is a very fun atmosphere for the kids. Be sure to have the kids ask for ketchup and a straw. You will get a good laugh at what they bring to the table. The food is o.k., not anything great, but again, a fun atmosphere. Have a great trip!

Just beware that the Backyard BBQ is outside...which means NO Air Conditioning!!! Seeing as you are going in August, you might want to be prepared..We went in May, and it was unbearable. Especially with so many people, kids, on the floor, trying to dance, get autographs...etc...Like the previous poster said, it IS very chaotic. The food was pretty good. Basic BBQ fare. I just remember not being able to 'cool off'.

We love WCC and eat there almost every trip!! I can't wait to go again. I love BBQ and it's so fun there. Last time I was "fencing" with our waitress with a huge wooden fork!!! Where else can you do that?

Yes, it is a 2 TS dining experience. I would pay OOP for this one and save my credits.

WCC without a doubt. I've done both and Mickey's BBQ was fun but so hot. It is underneath a pavilion and there was no breeze to be found. Very tough to eat and enjoy it when you are sweating that much.
