Hi All. We are planning to go to the WC on our first night. Could some of you share some of the antics that went on during your visits - we'd love to hear about them. Thanks so much!!!

We only had one antic actually happen to us, the rest we just saw. DH was drinking iced tea in the 1 qt. Ball jar that everyone drinks out of. DH is a pretty fast drinker, in the time it took our server to bring our drinks, leave, and come back to take our order, DH had drank his iced tea. The CM took our order than came back with a 3 qt jar of iced tea. It was pretty funny!:drinking1

Ask for a LARGE drink -- emphasize the word LARGE.
Ask where you can buy GUM at WDW.
Ask for Pepsi (WDW only serves Coke).
Ask for ketchup.
Ask for directions to the restrooms.
Ask for directions to Universal Studios.
Ask for a big straw for your drink.

Oh, I'm interested in this, too. I'm going here for the 1st time in Sept - it sounds like such a fun place!

My youngest asked for a straw, and the server threw about 20 straws at him.

My oldest, who the server had nicknamed "Cupcake" kept draining his milk. After she had refilled it three or four times, the server told him she was tired of doing it and sent him to the kitchen to get his own.

Lots of banter and talk. If you play along, you'll have a really good time.

A word of caution ... each server's reaction can and probably will vary. Some servers are somewhat loud and really into the role, while others tend to be a little reserved.

The ketchup request will almost always get a reaction.

Asking for directions to Universal -- pretty much a sure thing. (I've not been in a Disney restaurant yet that "despised" Universal more than WCC!)

Large drink requests or frequent requests for refills -- I've seen this go both ways. Sometimes they just refill it; other times I've seen them bring out mason jars larger than I imagined could be made!

Asking for Pepsi -- almost a sure thing.

The rest -- depends on your server. If you want someone who is loud and into a lot of fun, mention it when you check-in. Likewise, if you would prefer to just observe, mention that also.

If you have children, ask about the "pony races." That's a hoot -- especially when a mom or dad participates.

Mention any birthdays or anniversaries, too!

Thanks everyone for your replies to date - keep them coming, they are so well enjoyed!!!!

When we dined there, my DS, (a big bread eater) kept asking our waiter for more buns. Finally he made him go into the kitchen and get his own. DS is a little shy and dosn't like to draw attention to himself. However, he was a good sport and played along. When he came from the kitchen we asked what it looked like. He really didn't look close enough to say.

We were there my nephew we had the hardest time getting him moving, it was like he was moving in slow motion every day. Well he was playing with a table that had lincon logs on it when the server came over and asked who was suppose to be sitting in the empty chair. My father told her my that my nephew was playing at the block table. My father started to get up to go get him and she said don't worry about it I'll get him, what is his name. We said Joey thinking she would go up to the block table and get him, but instead she just let out a huge JOEY at the top of her lungs. I swear you could hear it on the top floor of the hotel. Well that kid showed up quicker than two seconds flat, it was the funniest thing we still laugh about it. We also told my nephew the rest of the week if he didn't start moving along we were going to tell on him again. It was great!!!!

While dining at WC after we had placed our dinner order, I excused myself to go to the restroom. The restrooms are not actually inside the restuarant, they are more like inside the hotel lobby. Our server returned to our table while I was still gone and ask where I was. My family told him I went to the restroom and would return shortly. The server proceeded to the microphone and called out my name LOUDLY!!! When I got back from the restroom, he was still holding the microphone, and he asked if I had remembered to wash my hands. I replied that I had indeed remembered to wash and he said "Prove it! What color is the soap?" Thank God I remembered it was blue. I was a little embarrassed, but it was all in good fun.

Our DD asked for a straw and he threw about 50 of them at her. Saying " Do you think all I have to do here is provide straws to you folks?" Then later another guest asked for a straw and he told that table that our DD had taken all the straws they had.

We really had a great time, and the food wasn't too bad either!!

Think twice before asking for the ketchup!!!!!

Also, DH ended up doing the "Hokey Pokey" with the waitress at the front of the restaurant complete with microphones, and music because he had been joking around with "Tradin' Teresa" all week at breakfast!!

Oh yes. The WCC. I hear, too, if you ask for a table "by the windows" they will seat you in the middle of the restaurant and put windows all around you.

I unfortunately asked for a large drink and I had seen other people get the carafe. The waitress couldnt even carry it to the table. One of the male wait staff brought it over saying, "Ya thirsty, puppy?" :earseek: This is what I got:

OMG, that is the kind of drink my DFiance needs. Everytime we go out the waitress/waiter brings out 2-3 glasses at a time....lol!:earseek:
So I'm curious what happens when you ask for Ketchup?

Keeeeeeeeeeetchuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!!

It depends on your server. Some will announce very LOUDLY that your table needs ketchup. OR you may be asked to stand on your chair and ask (LOUDLY) for ketchup.

Then everyone who has a bottle of ketchup will bring it to your table. You could end up with more than a dozen bottles!

And of course, the next table that asks for ketchup ...

it'll be YOUR turn to ferry the bottles (all of them) to the new table!!

(Disclaimer: at WCC there are ALWAYS potential variations on this theme, so don't be surprised! Plus, it's all intended to be "just for fun".)

Oh my goodness that sounds like so much fun. And it will be even more funny to keep all this a secret from my DH and let him do all the asking.....

Shhh... our secret.

Hi,

Try ordering OJ @ lunch!! Or iced tea or the like @ breakfast!! See what happens!!! Very cute! ::yes::

We stayed at the WL last year, so we ended up eating there a couple of times.

I decided to be "smart" and "stole" a ketchup from one of the tables that had had the ketchup stunt done to them so that when I needed ketchup, I wouldn't have to ask....bad idea  ...I was tried and put in jail for ketchup thievery. They brought out this thing and sat it in front of me and it looked like I was in jail.

They got me with with the water, too. I asked for more water and she said "would you like a large" and "dumbly" I said yes, that would be great and I got a mop bucket size water with lemons and gummy worms, with just a touch of tea tossed in for color and was told that I would have to drink the creek water since I was being a piggy...

The next time, I thought I would outsmart and asked for a small water and got, yes, a small...a THIMBLE of water....

My husband was wearing a hat and they took it from him and through it on the chandelier in the middle of the restaurant and told him "no hats at the table"

The table next to us had "hats" made for them out of napkins that they had to wear....not sure what brought that on, but it was funny.

The place is great fun and you cannot "win" or get one up on them, so play along and have fun!

That is tooo funny, I'm more excited than ever now, I think this will be the highlight of my son's trip .......thanks for sharing!!

I saw a grown man gallop around the entire restaraunt singing Happy Birthday
