We just learned recently that Whispering Canyon is now accepting ADR's. I called today and they had nothing. She was a little rude and said that WC has alway been an ADR only restaurant. I have eaten there every trip since it opened and have never made ADR's. I talked to a girl yesterday (about a different issue) and she said that WC is also taking walk-ins. Has anyone recently done the walk-in thing and been able to get seated? I have several ADR's for the hard to get meals but I liked WC because you didn't need ressies if you decided at the last minute to eat there. I am disappointed that so many places in Disney are taking the fun out of choosing where to eat at the last minute.

Not sure why you are getting mixed (or rude) signals but Whispering Canyon has always accepted ADR, or at least, they have for a long time.

Sorry, but I don't think that I wrote this correctly. The girl that I spoke with today told me that Whispering Canyon has always been an ADR's ONLY restaurant and did not allow walk-ins. I knew that was not true because I have never had an ADR. Guess I got a CM that wasn't having a good day. Oh well, it happens to all of us.

officially, no WDW restaurant currently reserves space specifically for walkups. ADRs are the only guarantees (okay, Beaches and Cream is walkup only).

that said, if there's room available, they may accept walkups. I've gotten walkups before, but I've also seen people turned away. others have reported simply having to call disney dining right when they were at the restaurant to get an ADR.

We got a walk up the Weds before Easter. We weren't seated in the "main" room, but off to the little corner section overlooking the lobby. We prefered this since we wanted a nice dinner and a little down time from all the hustle and bustle. We could see out the main doors onto the pool area, and enjoy the lobby. We had a corner table right neer the in station they have. It was great, until we were ordering dessert and some kid puked all over the table behind us. Needless to say we got our desserts to go:eek: .

When we were there in last May I don't remember the exact time. I think it was around 1:30-2:00 we just walked in. I don't know if being only 2 people made a difference or not.

We just had dinner there on May 16th...6:30pm ADR for 8 people.

The couple trying to check-in before us could not get seated.
The woman insisted they had an ADR.
The CM checked & checked and discovered that her ADR had been for dinner the previous night!! Well, they told her they could not just "squeeze her in & that it would be a 60-90 minute wait.

The family after us was a walk-up.
They were told the same thing...60-90 minutes.

With our ADR, our party of 8 waited less than 10 minutes for a table. :thumbsup2

We had dinner there on Mother's Day! WE waited 40mins and we had an ADR:eek: . I saw several people walk in , one told me she had done this many times, all were told 90-120 min wait!!
Lunch never seemed to busy!

We eat at WCC quite frequently and seldom have ADRs. While we have made them for our Christmas Day dinners just to be safe, they weren't needed even then. Of course, we tend to eat at off-peak times. That really makes a difference.
