I will try not to be too long winded! DH and I just returned from a long weekend trip to the World. We arrived at Pop Century on Fri (Jan 9) evening. Check-in was long but the CM that checked us in was great. Didn't get the building I requested. We got the 80's and I had wanted the 70's. We did get the king size bed I wanted. The resort was definately fun with all the larger than life icons and I really liked the food court. I have stayed at WL before and I like the variety better at the value and moderate food court areas. After checking in it was really late but we headed over to DTD for a quick bite before everything closed. The weater was warm and humid. Boy, we were in for a change come sat morn!!
Started early and had breakfast at POP. Thought we would save some money and have the adult breakfast platter (scrambled eggs, small biscuit, bacon and or sausage patty, and hash browns) and cheese omelet. We realized we should have just gone for the platter on the omelet as well as it was only about a dollar and some change difference. We hit the EMH at MGM and rode our favs ToT and RnR coaster each twice. We did the other things we wanted to do at the studios and finished our day there off with lunch at the ABC commisary. Was very good and had a great variety of lunch items. We both had the cuban sandwiches since I had been jonesing for one the night before from Bongos but they were already closed.

We then went to Epcot. I think this is when I started to realize just how cold it was. I guess I had been going on adrenaline up til then. I was in the 50's but with the wind it felt like the 30's. We bought some sweatshirts at Mouse Gear and kept on truckin'!! I wimped out on Mission Space at the last minute. All that talk about motion sickness made me nervous and I didn't feel that well anyway. I took the walk of shame and DH rode without me. He loved it and said that it was probably a good thing I skipped out. He thought that I would have gotten sick. I couldn't possibly miss my favorite meal of the trip. We had ressies at Alfredo's and I was so excited. During my last trip (Nov '02) we ate there and it was the best meal we had by far. I was worried by reading all the negative reviews that place gets. I was starting to think that we had just gotten lucky and caught them on a good night. All of my fears were put to rest. It was just as good if not better than before. We had the antipasta platter and split a small bottle of merlot. We then each had an apitizer portion of the fettichini as I was determined not to leave any leftovers behind. It was the perfect portion for the 2 of us and it was fabulous!! I will never doubt that place again. It was just too cold to stay and watch Illuminations. we worked our way around WS and headed to the bus stop which at Epcot was soooo far away but at this point, we had not had to wait hardly anytime for a bus. We went back to the room and colasped with exhaustion.

Sun morn., early start again. No time for breakfast at Pop. We had scheduled the Key to the Kingdom tour at MK for 9:30. We had to leave extra early b/c the Disney Marathon was being held and there were lanes blocked off the on road all over property. We didn't know how long it would take us to get there. We were bussed to the TTC and then took the monorail in to MK. We even got to view some of the runners on the route. In all my trip I have never been at MK for their opening. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to take my kids next time we go. DH laughed at my tears as I got kinda misty. The tour was wonderful. We learned and saw so much. Matthew, our tour guide was great. We were one of the 1st groups to wear the ear pieces and Matthew wore a mike. This way he didn't have to stop and turn to talk to us. We got to hear all of his comments as we walked through the park. Lunch was terrific at Columbia Harbour House. We will definately eat there again. We spent most of the day at MK and finished up at MGM. Two more goes on the RnR coaster and then Fantasmic. It was great. We beat the crowds out and were heading to DTD. We jumped on the bus to WL to get the transfer. This is where the night took a downhill turn. We waited, in the cold, 45 mins for a bus to DTD. It was miserable and then when the bus picked us up do you think we headed straight to DTD? Why no, we had to go pack some more people in at GF. After leaving MGM at 7:30pm we arrived at PI at 9pm. I was tired, hungry and very cranky. We used our $25 voucher at Planet Hollywood. I was pretty good. I was too tired to play anymore that evening so we headed back to PC.

Our last morning, packed our bags and left them for luggage assistance and had breakfast at Pop. DH had breakfast pizza and I had the breakfast platter again. Both were very good. Headed over to AK. Scratched the surface there but did our favorites and a few we hadn't done before then headed over to AKL. I wanted to check it out and so we explored a little and had lunch at Mara. Must say it was very good for counter service. DH had the tandori chicken pizza and I had fish and chips. It was then time to say farewell to the World for this trip. I think we are planning to take the kids back May 2005. Can't decide where I want to stay but we will do the 3 night cruise also. Another countdown begins

WOW, you got a lot accomplished while you were there. I am going on the 23rd - 26th which is just a weekend with my 8 yr old Son. We have not been there before and can't wait to go. I just hope it warms up by then. What do you think?

I really hope it warms up for you. It seems like everytime we go they are having record low temps. January can be so hit and miss with the weather. Saturday it was frigid but it was beautiful on Mon when we left. good luck.

Wow, sounds like you guys did a lot in a short amount of time. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
