WDW with Mommy: Pre-Trip

This trip report begins 20 years ago, when I was just seven years old. After 7 years of adults-only vacations and leaving me with Grandma, my parents decided it was time for me to start traveling. They sat me down and told me I could choose anyplace in the continental U.S. It was totally up to me. Of course, you can understand why this is such a vivid childhood memory – the POWER!
Somewhat disbelieving, I tentatively asked, “Can we go to Disney World?”
..which was immediately followed by a raucous fist-pumping “YES!!!” from my mom, like she’d just won the lottery. :dance3:
…which is why, two decades later, my most recent trip to the world was such a special one – I took this trip with my Mommy. :cloud9:

There isn’t a whole lot to the immediate pre-trip story. It was a whirlwind from the beginning. My mom and I recently joined Mensa, and the organization was hosting its World Gathering in WDW. We literally decided to make a vacation out of it about 2 months beforehand. We agreed on a 4 night stay and power touring. I proceeded to break out my “Disney box” of previous trips and go through the passporter, scouring my “notes for next time.” I knew those would come in handy someday. ;) I also bought the latest editions of passporter and the unofficial guide… read them cover to cover… scoured the DIS boards, made ADRs, room requests and computer spread sheets of our schedule. Yes. I’m one of THOSE people. :surfweb:

That’s enough pre-trip. Now, on with the show!! I can’t wait to tell you about our first and most MAGICAL day!!!! I will add it to this thread when it's ready, so please check back in!! Thanks!

Also, I plan to post pictures on all the daily reports... i'm going to go practice my pics now. ;)

Next Up -> So Much Magic: Day 1

Can't wait to read the rest..... :thumbsup2 The first time I took my DD at 2 years old, she is now 11 and has been about 8 times, was with my mom. It was a very special memory that I will remember forever. My mom cried during one of the parades remembering the first time she took me, and I started to cry watching the excitment in my daughters face. Everytime we go there is always a special memory that I will keep forever but that was a very special thing to share with my mom.

Subscribing cuz I'm a sucker for pictures of WDW..... :rolleyes1

Can't wait!....get 'em posted already!!! :p
