I got a ingrown toe nail. I figured it looked like I could pop it free and I did, So I poked around and made my toe bleed. It hurt before but now, WOW! I need advil to survive. Its just throbbing now and I can barley put pressure on it. Well this should be fun at the amusment park tommrow, gonna be a long feild trip

goop bacitracin on it, cover it with a band aid and leave it over night, repeat in the morning. You made need to tape it to keep the band aid from moving when you wear shoes.
It will soften the nail and open up the infection to get the meds inside it. It will still hurt when you get the nail out but it will be easier.

My kids have weird feet and have to deal with this all the time.

DS(16) got one a couple of years ago (his own fault for not telling us til AFTER a week-long scout camp that his walking boots were too small) We messed around for a bit and the Dr saw him weekly to try to sort it but in the end he had to have 1/2 the toenail removed. The worst was the local anasthetic -he nearly crushed my hand!

Soon as you're over with the long walks I'd get it seen to
