I'm not sure if this forum is for giving tips or asking for tip's so I'll do both. First off, When you are touring MK, don't forget to stop off in Adventure Land and get a Dole Whip.....Get the Pineapple/vanilla twist though. I got the straight up pineapple before and it was pretty intense. But they are soooo good. If you've never had one....GET ONE! Now who can name the place to get 'em (cause I can't remember).

Now,

What is the best order to do the parks? Our first time, it was MK,E,MGM,AK. I'm thinking that we probably should have done EPCOT first cause the kids were a little disappointed after being at the MK the day before.

The Dole Whips are at Aloha Isle and you are right they are great. I have one everytime we go.
I love to do Magic Kingdom first, because this is my favorite park. But, my kids are both grown, dd 21 and ds 23. The first time we went though, they were 16 and 18. So, I guess it all depends on how old they are. My kids love all of the parks. My DS's favorite is Epcot and always has been. DD's is MGM. Hope that helps. :)

We always plan our days around EMH's and historical trends on which days are busiest. Since we go mostly during value season, certain parades and activities arent available every day, so we often plan around those as well.

We always make MK our last park...so its our last memory of our trip. (generally we visit each park at least twice during a trip)

Its my understanding that the Dole Whip has now been classified as a major food group. :rotfl2:

I just found the recipe for the Dole Whip. I tried it and it was pretty close to the original!

I think that is against the rules here to post that and not include the recipe......... ;)

WE WANT THE RECIPE!!!!

I had my first Dole Whip this month when I was down and LOVEd it! I got the twist one. Sure could go for one now. My mouth is watering.

About the order of the parks... Now, there's a few factors to this. You might want to do Magic Kingdom last so your kids won't be disappointed. But, when are you going? The busiest day for Magic Kingdom is Monday, because everybody goes there first. I'm guessing the same goes with the other parks:

MK:Monday
E:Tuesday
MGM:Wednesday
AK:Thursday

Does your head hurt yet? :rotfl2:

I haven't tried one yet either, but would love too!! Recipe please! :stir:

Ok here is the recipe I recieved from Disney. The recipe is good, but there is nothing like the real thing at Adventure Land. :thumbsup2

DOLE WHIP

1 qt. Dole Pineapple juice
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 cups heavy whipping cream
3 cups sugar
Milk

Mix the juice and sugar, making sure that the sugar is dissolved. Next add the cream and the vanilla. Pour the whole mixture into a 4 qt. ice cream maker. Add milk to finish, filling to the fill line. At this point simply follow the instructions to your ice cream maker. When the ice cream is ready you can serve it as is or you can stick it in the freezer for a while and let it set up.

ENJOY!! :thumbsup2

I'm new here and have been browsing around. I remembered reading a few days ago that Dole Whips are lactose free, which made me wonder about this recipe. I found a post on the Restaurant forum that says Dole Whips are made from a mix, and you can purchase it. I have never had one, but based on the posts I have seen in the last few days, I will definitely have to get one when we go in October.

This is my first post, so DIS won't let me attach a link. The title is "Dole Whips at Home!! (Yes it can be done)" originally posted 1/7/06 on the Disney Restaurant Forum.

hi all,
i have some very bad news.ok get your kleenx.i am highly allergic,as in eppi pen allergic to pineapple and i have never had a dole whip. :guilty:so do they all have pineapple or can i get one without pineapple and would it be the same.i alwys been scared to have one in fear of my severe allergy.

I just found out I'm allergic to pineapple too! No more Dole Whip pineapple. :guilty: However, and someone else help me out on this because I only ever get the pineapple, isn't there another citrus flavor? Not a true Dole Whip, of course, but something? Although if you're Epi-pen allergic, you may want to avoid simply because of the chance of cross-contamination. . .

At the Enchanted Grove, they have Strawberry Swirls (a Strawberry minus Pineapple Dole Whip) and somewhere else they have an Orange Dole Whip.

It's the citrus swirl. They have it at the Sunshine Tree Terrace (right by aloha isle) and it's like a dreamsicle-- ornage sorbet with vanilla swirl. very tasty.
