what is the chance of seeing the animals? We have never been to AKL before but read that while there you can see the animals. Our PS seating is at 7:30 pm in Jan so it will be dark. Do we need to get there while it is still light or can we see them even after it turns dark? I am not sure how the AKL is layed out so any suggestions would be great. In my mind I know without light we cant see the animals, but I remember this is Disney, they can make most anything possible.

A couple of options

They have artifical moonlight so you can see some of the close up animals, albeit not very well, but you can tell the difference between a zebra and a giraffe:)

also, they have castmembers with night vision goggles sometimes. Boys always think this is pretty cool:)

In either case, you can't see them from the restaurant, you have to go to one of the many lookout points throughout the hotel, or to the "people pod" outdoors, by the fire pit. That's where they'll have the goggles.

Thanks for the quick reply! I thought I remembered someone saying they saw them at night but was trying to figure out how. That would be cool, like watching one of those Animal Planet shows!

Thanks
