We are going to Boma for a breakfast in early December. I have never been to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Isn't there a view of the Savanah and some of the animals there? Are visitors allowed to go to this area? Also, is the restaurant in the same building as registration? I'd love to see the big lobby.

Yes to all of your questions. Visiting AKL and dining at Boma is a great experience.

P.S. Welcome to the Boards!

Be prepared, AKL is beautiful and it will take your breath away when you first walk into the Lobby. You should also checkout the area outside Boma surrounding the pool (as others have said, one flight down from the lobby). There are savannah areas there as well. One night waiting for boma we were standing alongside one of the savannah's by the pool. Quietly, a giraffe appeared, slowly walking toward us. This tall creature seemed as curious of as as we were of him/her. We three stood, just a few feet separating us, until the giraffe had seen enough....turned and quietly walked back into the darkness. It was AMAZING to be that close.

We always give ourselves time to go outside and watch the animals but walk around the lobby as well. The art in the display cases is authentic African art. Don't forget to checkout the artwork on the wall as you leave!

Oh yes, and since "all sidewalks lead to the gift shop".....the one at AKL is very nice!

Enjoy Boma - one of our favorites! Have a great time.

Love Boma. It's my favorite place for breakfast. Make sure to try the frunch.
