Which would you rather do?

Hi everyone! I am mainly a lurker but need some advice.

So here is the story... I have a DD who will be 2 in June. I wanted to take her back to Disney before she turns 3. We were thinking of going May 2011. We found out we were pregnant in January which would have worked great as the baby would have been the same age we first took DD to Disney. Unfortunately I miscarried a week later. Now we are trying to figure out when would be the best time to go back to Disney/try again to have a baby.

So if we try again right away and assuming we get pregnant would you rather go to Disney when you are pregnant or take a baby less than 4 months old since I don't know how long it would take to get pregnant. The first time it only took 3 months and the second time 2 months but you never know this time around. We were thinking maybe of moving the trip up and going in October and just deal with the fact that I am pregnant.

I just don't know what would be better Disney pregnant or Disney with a young baby?

Thanks so much!
Ashley

I would personally rather go when pregnant. In both of my pregnancies, I've felt well, had no morning sickness and in the 2nd trimester had a lot of energy. An infant requires more 'stuff' to lug around, and stopping every two hours to find a spot to nurse would mean I was not able to enjoy myself at the parks or give my full attention to my other child. Plus, if I were staying in a regular room, I'd be concerned about the baby waking up every couple of hours to nurse and waking my other child.

I would say it really depends on what you like to do while at Disney. If you like rides and things like that, then I wouldn't go when you are pregnant because you couldn't experience all the things you would like. However, on the other hand taking a small child requires more planning. We took our daughter for the first time when she was 6 months old and we had a great time. Good luck with your decision!

I don't advise planning any thing major during a pregnancy unless your going to carry trip insurance.

There are simply too many things that could go wrong that you cannot foresee that can ruin your trip. you could be ultra fatigued, you could have severe morning sickness that doesn't go away. As its a second child, you could be stretching a bit to much making getting around difficult and painful to any of the other more severe complications that can occur.

I was a high risk pregnancy when I was pregnant with my son. April 2007 I was 8 or 9 weeks pregnant when we went to universal. I took lots of breaks and didn't go on anything bumpy if I wasn't sure DH went on with DD.

I asked my ob about going and he was all for it just told me to where good shoes and I also had an appointment about a week before I left and when I came home but that was because of me being high risk.

Good luck and have fun.

I would rather go when I was pregnant. I actually did. In May 2007 I was 19-20 weeks pregnant with our DD. We actually left for our trip 3 days after we found out she was a girl. I had a blast. I was in my second trimester so I was over morning sickness but didn't hit that uncomfortable part yet. You would be amazing at how much you can actually do there while pregnant.

I also wanted to add that I am very sorry for your loss. My DH and I lost 3 babies before we had our DD and it is very difficult.
