Which would you pick?

Thanks everyone I'm leaning towards keeping Ohana.. my husband and I are both very non confrontational but if the the food is cold or we have poor service I'm gona have to just suck it up and say something.
I don't think you will have a higher chance of any negatives at Ohana over any other restaurant so i would take that out of the equation. People tend to complain more when they have high expectations that are not met. The reason you may see more complaints is because Ohana is almost always a great experience. When it's not we hear about it. Like I said, I've eaten at all of your choices. My expectations bringing a group to Ohana as opposed to The Wave would be very different. If my meal went badly at The Wave I would think I had a bad meal. If my meal went badly at Ohana I would think I had a bad evening. Doesnt make sense but its precisely because Ohana almost always delivers a fun evening that we are so disappointed when it does not.

Our family is one that personally does not enjoy O'hana, however, the concern I have for you is that you said that you did not want to waste MK time. If that is truly important to you then I would definitely reconsider going to O'hana, as even though it is on the monorail, it will still take some time to get there (if everything is working well) and then you will most likely have to wait. We went on our arrival day and we were staying at the Contemporary, with reservations at 450 pm. It still took us a bit to get there and then we waited about 20 minutes. I think you will really have to rank what is most important to your family when making this decision.

As far as the negatives to the restaurant itself, well, we just did not find the food great, our service was average and frazzled, and it was crazy in there with coconut races, a ukulele player, and lots of people. But, all of that is stuff that did not work well for us, so I am reluctant to dissuade anyone from a restaurant based on our opinions. I also think that I built it up to be THE dining experience while at Disney, and it just wasn't. No one in my family wanted to go back this summer.

Personally I wouldn't pick Ohana as I just don't like to wait and food or how crowded it gets. I also don't care for the food at LTT except the Ooey Gooey Cake!! I personally would go to The Wave or Grand Floridian Café. If you do not want to waste time then choose an early ADR at MK. If it is your birthday dinner though you should base it on what you want for food and what is most important to you.

I would stay inside MK and pick something there. I liked LTT for lunch but don't think I would want the dinner. It doesn't get great reviews but we had a great meal at Tony's last trip. We stuck with apps and wine and kids had kids meals.

I have a picky 12 year old who is a super-light eater. We have not been to a buffet with him since he became an adult. For the price, we can do a signature restaurant where he can get a good child's menu item.

But, we have always enjoyed Ohana. Last trip we ordered the room service, and my picky eater ate quite a bit of the steak and shrimp.

Ok everyone I just stumbled upon an ADR for Ohana breakfast on a different day that works perfectly with our schedule and now my kids get a character meal.. I have the touring plans reservation finder trying to get me a Cali Grill ressie for my bday (and I would only have to pay 10 bucks for my sons mac n cheese)... win win for everyone

We have loved the room service version as well. My kiddos can be found eating it cold in the morning :rotfl2:

I love this plan! Cali Grill is wonderful. I also like Citricos. It doesn't have quite the same view, but if Cali Grill doesn't open up a time for you, you might check it out. And Ohana is a favorite character breakfast--we used to schedule it for our last day just before catching the bus back to the airport.
